I have bought and sold a few 1969 Dodge Chargers on Ebay in the past. I always try to get a phone number to talk to someone about the car I am looking to buy. You have to ask question. If you don't then you get what you pay for. I have found that most people on Ebay selling there Charger, will make it sound like gold, when it's really coal. This last Charger I bought was not what I was told it was. I asked how it ran, they told me it ran great. I had to work on it just so I could drive it. I asked about the brakes. I was told they were great, I had to buy a master cyl, just so it would stop. I asked about any rust problems. I was told that the car had all rust problems repaired, except for the truck, they said that was more of a patch. The whole car was patch. The old rust was not cut out and patches were just laid over the old. The interior was nice with a couple of small repairs needed. I was told it was a new paint job. In person it looks like a kid did it. the paint had alot of trash in in. I could go on about the car. I was also promised alot of extra parts. I went to meet them half way when I picked up the car. I was told they forgot the parts but they would mail them to me. I was mailed a couple of old ratty parts, with only one good side marker. They did pay for part of the trim in cash, only because they did promise me that they had good trim. all the trim they sent was trash. I had decided to buy this car because they had talked so nicely and had seemed so trusting. Bottom line. You need to ask questions, but if you are told something, you need to ask them if they will stand behind what they say. And DO NOT believe any sob story's. Most of them are problably a lie. If you are buying a project car, then expect that what you see is what you get. But if you are buying what you think is a nice car, then ask questions, and if you don't know what to ask, find someone who does. It's alot cheeper to pay for someone to check the car out for you so you don't get burned, then to pay a high prices for a rusted car that does not run nice. If you don't know where to find someone to help you, then look on Ebay and ask someone near the area where you are looking to buy, and look at there feedback, and if it's 100%, then most likely you can trust them to help. Offer some money for help. Then they will be more likely to go out of there way to help. I hope you find this infomation helpful. Tom, - toms69rt@yahoo.com
