2005 Chrysler Town & Country
I knew what I wanted and I did not want to settle for something just because it was in my area. Not liking to stop at a "Dealership and go through the hassle" I decided to take my expertise on the internet, and get what I really wanted. I will say that I did check the dealers in my area first. At the time Chrysler was not doing well, and they had very good incentive packages out. However, we all know how much a new car depreciates by thousands once you drive it off the lot. We all work hard for our money, and with these tough times, you really have to think outside the box.
That is exactly what I did. It was no small task however. Those that make the best purchases, are informed buyers. They have researched the product that they are going to buy.
So like a good consumer I did my research. I went to Consumer Reports and even bought the package for invoices. Also checked the web numerous times on other sites, reviewing vehicles. I searched prices all across the United States. I compared packages, options, and many different vehicles, before settling on exactly what I wanted.
I'm very familiar with Ebay, but have never bought on Ebay Motors. I do believe that dealerships will be a thing of the past. Many people are doing business online with dealerships directly. You know what you want, and then get some dealerships in your area to give you the best deal. So they are basically fighting for you, not the other way around.
I like the Town & Country Vehicle, for comfort. Also I like the fact that I am buying American. I love being able to program in an address and having the car tell me which way is the best way. I love that I know what the temperature is and it has a built in compass. Living in the Northeast, the seat warmers are wonderful. After having leather seats, I dont think I could ever go back to cloth again. Seats that store into the floor are awesome, and I was able to fit a new bedroom set for my daughter in it. It was raining one day, and I had left one of the side doors open on the van, and really didnt want to get back out to close the door, as I looked up, I remembered there is a button to open and close both side doors. NICE!! I was coming out of the store with a cake, and a few other things, and I was trying to figure how I was going to juggle everything and open the door, BUT wait! There is a button on the keychain that will open the hatch for you too! I love the moon roof, opening it up to get a small breath of fresh Spring Air is nice without having to open a side window. On a sunny day its nice to have the warm sun come into the vehicle, it makes it feel so much more spacious. (Much like a sun room at home.) Lets not forget about the DVD for the kids in the back. They can watch it quietly with their headphones, while I listen to the radio with no fighting.
Another thing that is not that great, is the cost of getting a key made. They have to go through a lot to match everything up, and its costly.
After buying this vehicle off of Ebay, I was holding my breath of course until it got inspected. My husband told the mechanics, give it a good check over my wife bought it. They did, and came back to say, "Tell your wife she did a great job!" What a relief! "Exhale"
I found the vehicle I wanted, bid the buy it now, and was really nervous to hit that button! I needed to fly in PA, and I drove it back home to NH. I not only found a great van, but some new friends in Philly.
Thanks Ebay!
