What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I realize that a 12 years old car will have some problems so far I had to put in some work on the engine so I did not expect perfection but so far so good. I have drove in rain leaks a bit. It has held up well on the freeway. I had some nagivational errors driving it home and was able to stop safely even when I could not see properly. I expect to not have to pay for more repair work for some time. I like the color of the vehicle. I hope to enjoy it for many years to come.

1997 Chrysler Sebring: 1997 Sebring Convertable

I enjoy the convertable and that is why I bought it. It get good gas milage and runs good. The check engine light came on within 60 miles of leaving the seller's house and is still on. It indicates that the unit needs a catylic converter which I will purchase next spring. The roof leaks but this is common for old rag tops. It was sold as "needing nothing" which is not true. It is a reasonable vehicle for the money and I enjoy it.

I needed to buy a used car because my son was taking my old car off to college. After weeks of looking at over priced cars with questionable histories at shady dealerships, I decided to take a chance and search on e-bay. In minutes, I found the exact car that I was looking for at a fair price. It was also close enough for me to pick up in a day. I had also read the reviews of the seller so I knew that he was an honest person with a good record and reputation.

The deal went smoothly, and I am very pleased with my car.

Thank you for providing this service.

I bought it for my girlfriend, within a couple of days I had to put it into the shop, which cost me $295. for some tires, rear wheel spindle which was literally almost falling off from worn bearings. A major tuneup was done at a cost of $450.00, which included some emmissions work. About two weeks later it quit running, back in the shop for $595.00 in electrical problems. The odometer needs repair, not working also the tachometer inop, is expensive to repair due to the circuit board in the dash requires replacement, cost of circuit board is $350., so I am waiting on purchasing that, also the engine smokes when initially started. I bought it because my girlfriend wanted a red convertible. I would say that this is a good car if maintained properly, its a difficult car for the average person to work on, Im very mechanical but had to leave most of the work to Mechanics Shop. I have a 2001 Chrysler Sebring convertible and have not had any problems with it but it only has 60,000 miles on it and was properly maintained. I love the car, the Sebring is a beautiful convertible and the interiors are great with the leather interior, they drive nicely, good acceleration with the V6 engine. You just have to find out how the vehicle was cared for if you want a used Chrysler Sebring or it could end up costly.

Car drives and rides like new with over 91,000 miles. There were a few problems with the car as purchased on eBAY. The price was right and parts to make like new again have been easily found. The ride of this car is great and is alot of fun to drive. Parts to repair have been found to be a little more expensive to purchase than planned. Speaker covers and sun visors seem to be a problem area with this vehicle. The truck space is great with ample room for luggage even with the boot in the trunk. New convertable tops are pricey, but the cloth with the glass window are the way to go on the JXi model. The vehicle I purchased has never been repainted and it is holding up just fine. I washed and waxed the car and found no peeling anywhere on the car. By looking at other Sebring convertibles i noticed that the tops seem to fail near the rear fail first at the rear windows. Must be the stress point when the top is opened or closed. Even with the damaged top it does not leak. The seats are very comfortable and do not sit on the floorboard like so many other auto's equiped with retrackable tops.

1997 Chrysler Sebring: Vehicle purchases not recommended on Ebay

I do not recommend purchasing a vehicle on Ebay. Many mechanical problems will not be disclosed in the advertisement. Prior to the purchase, you might visit the seller and discover some defects, but you will still be competing against bidders who are unaware of the unadvertised problems and mechanical failures. Ultimately, the buyer will likely pay a higher price and still be faced with unexpected repairs.

Bought my 1997 JX convertible used with 32,000 miles in 1999. I drove it until Nov 2005 when the transmission finally went at 173,000 miles. I also had the circuit board issue in mine, which the dealer wanted $750 to fix, but was able to convince Chrysler that it was their problem, and not mine. They replaced the board and ended up charging me $50 for labor. Keep the oil changed, change the timing belt at the regular intervals and the car was a dream. Even after an incident with a deer, I still drove the car for another 20,000 miles. When I moved up north, I found that the convertible roof didn't like snow very much, as it ended up leaking a little water into the back seat. Other than that, the car handled well, was very comfotable to drive (and I drove it a lot), and driving with the top down made Atlanta rush hour traffic bearable. I miss it dearly, and am looking to buy another one soon.

I bought my Sebring used with 22,000mi on it in 2001. I now have 130,000mi on it and I am quite sad that I have to part with it but, unfortunately, the transaxle now needs to be replaced. Until last week, I have never had anything major go wrong with it. This particular model is known to have a problem with a short in the circuit board for the power behind the tachometer and odometer. Although the odometer still functions, if you want to know how many total miles, you have to hope to catch the mileage when it happens to light up. It has nothing whatsoever to do with the function of the car. As long as you pay attention to your car for odd noises and continue to get the oil changed, who knows how long this car will last.

1997 Chrysler Sebring: 1997 Chrysler Sebring LXi
10/19/06
• Overall Satisfaction:
The 1997 Chrysler Sebring LXi is a fast, sporty car. The car has many great features including: driver's side power seat, power doors, power locks, and a premium sound system. After 85,000 miles my front suspension begin to go out and needed to be totally redone. The cost was more then I paid for the car but once fixed the car doesn't sqeak and drives smoother. With the price of gas this car is not suitable for excessive driving as it gets mainly 20-22 mpg combined. Overall I would recommend this car for new drivers and those who have a short easy commute.
