1999 Chevrolet Suburban: I WOULDN'T BUY A VEHICLE ON EBAY SINCE I GOT SCREWED AND THEY SAY TO BAD!!!

After the other replies I have provided about this I connot believe you continue to ask!!!The main reason I bought this vehicle is because it was listed as NEEDS NOTHING!! THIS HAS BEEN FAR FROM THE CASE.After having this vehicle shipped to me it took less then 5 min of driving to know I had problems.
I drove it for approx an hour and took it to my normal repair shop for diagnosis.It's still there and I would expect the repairs will most likely top $4000. There is no way the seller could not of known there were problems. But since it is OK WITH EBAY THAT THE SELLER JUST PLAIN LIED I AM SCREWED!!
I know I thought there is protection for all EBAY transactions. SO BUYERS BEWARE I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY THAT ISN'T THE CASE AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WILL PROBABLY NEVER MAKE ANOTHER VEHICLE PURCAHSE ON EBAY LIKE THSI AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seller was great to work with; clear communications before and after the purchase. I had an unexpected issue with the vehicle and few minor issues. Seller worked with me and covered the expenses of the major issue.

This vehicle was the perfect replacement for our family. The engine's performance and fuel economy are excellent, for its size! We use our vehicle for family trips and for carrying large items. We picked up the vehicle; filled the tank and made the 983 mile trip home--no problems. My wife likes the color and interior. The seller's attention to detail definitely shows in this vehicle. Thank you!

This rear drive 1/2-ton vehicle the best utility vehicle ever manufactured for light duty. On the plus side:
1. Easy to drive
2. Ease of maintenance with lots of room to work.
3. Relative engineering simplicity.
4. Broad range of utility.
On the negative side:
1. Barn doors. They make hauling anything greater than 8 ft in length a challenge.
2. Springs, tires and rear axle are for light duty ONLY. For serious hauling/towing you must look to the 3/4-ton.
3. They are no longer made like this. New suburban's have become too complicated.

The Auto was exactly as Murphy's Auto represented it!! Very Good Mechanically, and good transmission, just had been beat up on the body. It was a repo and some one vandlized it. The car is incredible!! Everything has already been done to the engine, New oil, new plugs & wires, new air filter, newly serviced transmission and rear end. When I arrived the car was running and Mr. Ken Peacock informed me that it had been sitting a while and the battery had run down. This was accurate, because when I got it back to the mountains, 2 nights later on a hard freeze the battery died, so he even kinda warned me about that!!! He never misrepresented the car, and in fact under-represented it. The FIRST GOOD EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A CAR SALESMAN/MANAGER!!! HOORAY FOR KEN PEACOCK!!! HORRAY FOR MURPHY AUTO SALES!!!!

I decided to buy it because it seemed almost too good to be true, which, of course, it was! I have never received this vehicle, and Ebay has booted the seller. What else can I say about a vehicle I paid for through Paypal and, even after five weeks, have never received.

I own a 1999 Chevy Suburban K2500 Base Model. I bought it on ebay. It is a great truck. Many of the negative reviews left here about this vehicle are (in my opinion) invalid. First of all, if you are looking for a vehicle that has no repair needs when you buy it, buy a newer Kia or something like that. When you buy a twelve year old truck with high mileage, you should expect some wear and tear. Expect to have to make some repairs to get it up to snuff. I had to spend an additional $2500.00 to get my Suburban to the level of reliability I wanted.
The suburban is a heavy duty full size American truck with a station wagon body on the chassis in place of a cab and bed. I don't even consider this vehicle to be an SUV. Expect it to handle like a truck. It's weight wears out steering and break components faster than the Kia. The large and powerful V-8 engines use alot more gas than the Kia.
The 1999 model year is the last year for this body style of suburban. Personally i like the cleaner lines and mechanical simlicity of this generation Suburban. This is also the last year for the 350 (5.7) engine, which came in my truck. If well maintained, this engine is extremely reliable, efficient and powerful. It has been in production since the 1960's. Four wheel drive works like a charm. ( I have the transfer case lever on the floor, not the electronic on the dash type 4x4 control) Overall a Solid Vehicle
