What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2006 Chevrolet Impala: Impala SS - Best Value by far!

I have found nothing that I dislike so far. I have owned it for two years, it has 28,000 miles and still a lot of fun yet comfortable, quite and feels substantial on the road. My favorite thing is the motor. Plenty of power to get up and go with the V-8 and 300 horses yet I am averaging 22 mpg over all. Not too shabby! I like to watch the instant mpg while driving and see when it goes into 4 cylinder mode. The only thing I would change about this vehicle, or any vehicle with active fuel management, would be to have an option to be able to manually control when the vehicle is in 4 cyl or 8 cyl mode. If you drive or buy one, you will not be disappointed.

I bought my Impala in July 07 from my brother-in law's fleet department. The car has all the bells and whistles with the exception of a moon roof and Bose sound system. The vehicle had 58K on it when I purchased it. I've had the right outer tie rod end replaced($96.00), one tire sensor ($90.00), a bad power steering pump line($80.00), and all four tires($500.00) since I purchased the car. I opted for Cooper CS4 tires(Cooper's USA made top of the line) which offer an 80K warranty versus replacing the tires with original equipment Goodyear's. I drove the car from Toledo, Oh to Branson on vacation with an average speed of 78MPH and got 31MPG the entire way. The car is extremely fun to drive. The factory remote starter and heated leather seats are a plus. My "back-up" car is a 95 Cougar XR7 with a 4.6 V-8. The Impala has 40 more HP. The flip down rear seats add versatility to the car (I brought a Christmas tree home in it with the trunk closed). The 3.9 engine is quick and nimble. I purchased the car for $8900.00(Blue book is in the neighborhood of $13K based on the mileage). It's definitely one of the best cars out of the 13 cars that I've owned. The only things that I would prefer would be a coat hanger in the back seat (vs. the grab bars) and rear wheel drive. I buy only black vehicles and keep them polished up. I'm used to people coming up to me and asking if I want to sell the car that I'm driving. This Impala is no different. In the 7 months that I've had my LT, I've already had people approaching me in parking lots to ask "What kind of car is that?" I just smile and say, "That's an 06 Impala".

The automotive press missed this one. Car & Driver said it was a high priced, over rated 4 door. (Anyone remember the Nissan ads from the 80's calling the Max. a 4DSC)? SOLD like hot cakes!!! This car does 0-60 in 5.3, gets 18mph around town, can carry 5 people, and groceries, and still haul A++, need I say more? Yes, it won't hold it's own with my Mustang GT, but, it won't back down either, and, it's much less noticed by the State Police. Drawbacks are here too, the seats are too soft, not enough sports car feel, front wheel torque steer is there, but, you can adapt to it. I would suggest anyone drive the Impala SS before purchaceing a HEMI Charger, or a Mustang GT, this will give you a good point of dission with your better half, look out guys, she will like the Impala, (she knows it will go in the snow). And, Only guys recognise a sleeper on the street. Let's consider the new "old school" revolution, this car has 10.5 to 1 FLAT top pistons, and 303HP!! I'm lucky enough to own some nice cars; a 2007 Mustang GT, a 2006 Impala SS, and a 96 Corvette, all of which have thier own feel and nich. The Impala gets the least looks, but, gets the job done, if you don't mind driving something that looks like your mom's car, but, has attitude, consider the SS, you will atleast know you attempeted to conform to your age group, I did, and still grinning. What an amazing car. I love everything about it. Ebay allowed me to actually buy one at a price I could afford. That is the biggest story of all. This was my first experience even bidding on ebay and I'm 100% impressed with what I was able to accomplish in a very short period of time.

This is in regard to the 2006 Chevrolet Impala. I have had surgery so have not been able to drive this car, however, my husband is the car buff. He says this is a super car. Could it be the Super 8 engine? Sounds like a tiger is under the hood when he starts it. Anyhow, he couldn't be more pleased and the price was right, so we are pleased with the bid on e-bay from European Motors.

This is a typical looking car with good mileage (about 27mpg city & highway average 35 min. commute one way) for having a 3.9 L engine. The design is so similar to other cars, that initially it was difficult to locate in a parking lot. It has power for hills, but it is sluggish when attempting to pull out from a stop. The handling is ok, but it doesn't hug the road on higher speed curves. It is disappointing inside with a lot of cheap-looking plastic on doors and dash, although it has many nice ammenities such as lock delay, dual climate controls, flip and fold rear seats, security system, side air bags and a car starter that senses whether to turn on the heater or air. Ducts in the back would be nice for those passengers. The controls are easy to use. The glove box is HUGE an there are several little hidey holes for little things. The computer displays fuel consumption, air pressure (which can be annoying), oil life, etc. In bright sunlight, you can't see the blue display well. The light gray cloth seats are a cheesy-looking fabric. Onstar and hands free calling is a plus. The trunk cargo net only holds smalls items. Personally, I found the seats hard and the ride coarser than in older Impala models. It's ok on a long stretch of smooth road, but it doesn't take bumps well, esp. on some secondary or rural roads. The BOSE stereo is very nice and worth the extra $. I was surprised that the sunroof sat on top of the roof when opened instead of disappearing inbetween. For the average family, it is a good deal, especially if you an find a used one. I was hoping for a cushy, smooth, quiet ride like in the Bonneville I traded, but it seems the vehicles are being made lighter for better mileage and that is the trade off. I've only had a few problems so far (15,000 mi.) and they were design defects in all Impala's tire monitor computer display and covered under warranty.

2006 Chevrolet Impala: 2006 Impala SS very fast poor MPG

Love everything about the car except poor fuel mileage, and it could stand to be a little larger, I'm 6'5", kids are really cramped sitting behind me. but thats in any newer car. computer cuts fuel at 135 mph gets there pretty quick, extremely quick and powerful for this size and style of car.
