The automotive press missed this one. Car & Driver said it was a high priced, over rated 4 door. (Anyone remember the Nissan ads from the 80's calling the Max. a 4DSC)? SOLD like hot cakes!!! This car does 0-60 in 5.3, gets 18mph around town, can carry 5 people, and groceries, and still haul A++, need I say more? Yes, it won't hold it's own with my Mustang GT, but, it won't back down either, and, it's much less noticed by the State Police. Drawbacks are here too, the seats are too soft, not enough sports car feel, front wheel torque steer is there, but, you can adapt to it. I would suggest anyone drive the Impala SS before purchaceing a HEMI Charger, or a Mustang GT, this will give you a good point of dission with your better half, look out guys, she will like the Impala, (she knows it will go in the snow). And, Only guys recognise a sleeper on the street. Let's consider the new "old school" revolution, this car has 10.5 to 1 FLAT top pistons, and 303HP!! I'm lucky enough to own some nice cars; a 2007 Mustang GT, a 2006 Impala SS, and a 96 Corvette, all of which have thier own feel and nich. The Impala gets the least looks, but, gets the job done, if you don't mind driving something that looks like your mom's car, but, has attitude, consider the SS, you will atleast know you attempeted to conform to your age group, I did, and still grinning.
