The whole deal was a fiasco. The people mis-represented the Car. Lied to us about it running (it didn't and hasn't run for at least a year.). We agreed upon a lesser price, but after arriving home with a vehicle that cost us an extra $650 because we had to rent a trailer (it would not run after spending two day trying to start it), we took it to a corvette specialist and everything in the world was wrong with it. The wiring had been torn out, the fuel pump didn't work, the water pump leaks, the injectors are shot and all have to be replaced. The headlights had never been hooked back up to open and the actuators don't work (we were toold they worked but were only disconnected). We were told the car had run and been used last summer. It hasn't been running in years arccording the the mechanic (who is a personal friend - not Lying!). The cost to us is going to be over $3,000 just to get it running to say nothing of the asthetics we knew we were going to have to upgrade. The whole deal was the worst think that could hav happened to us and we wish we had never heard of this darn thing in the first place. Some people just do not know how to be honest!......We got Took, plane and simple!
We have had some good experiences on e-bay, but this was NOT ONE OF THEM! We are now gun-shy for good!

The owner was nice enough to pick me up at the airport. He spent time with me advising on the vehicle. Although the vehicle was not as I anticipated, I am pleased with the experience.

Car did not make it 3 hours from the dealer and broke down. Have not yet recieved word as to what the problem is but the car would not go over 30 m.p.h.! Had to leave it the last 3 hours from its new home. Could be much happier, contacting dealer to see who will pay for repairs. 575lampley

As with any chevy I couldn't give it a perfect rating for quality and craftsmanship but this vette really rocks. I was fortunate enough to pick up a vette that had been well maintained and taken care of. Other than the interior color which was popular for its day (which adds its own bit of class) I totally love this car.

we a terrible car, didn't buy it, ebay should pay more attention to corvettes being put online, certain cars need more.....ebay should make sure discriptions are acurate and to the point

I wanted an '89 coupe with a 6 speed. I found one at a good price. It seems that if you want one with no problems, you will have to pay an unbelievable price. Inexpensive cars are available but they will all need work, regardless of what the seller says. Expect to work on all areas; engine/drivetrain, interior, exterior, accessories.
If you want a car that has no squeaks that is trouble and maintenance free then this is not a good car for you.
However, if you want an extremely fun car to drive. A car that was the world class sports car of its day. A car that can get your adrenaline pumping (and scare you if you aren't careful). A car that will have you looking for reasons to drive. A car that has personality, unlike 95% of the economy cars today.
I get 17 mpg in town. 28.5 mpg highway
Difficult entry/ exit, but once again....it's personality.
Trouble points specific to this Corvette: Instrument panel blanking ($150), headlights ($300), injectors ($180)
I love the quirks and the obvious attributes, but not for everyone.
Be ready to spend $1000 after the sale. It is a 20 yr. old car, so regardless of how truthful the seller is...change all fluids and belts, and give a good look at hoses, the tune-up, brakes, tires, etc.

For the record... when reading these negative reviews they have nothing to do with this 1989 white corvette or seller. These reviews were based on other peoples bad experiences with different sellers on ebay, not user "luckyandmax". After reading these 2 negative reviews, I found them very misleading where someone may think that they were from this seller only. This is the first time this car or any car by us has ever been listed.

I like the car bid on it several times before the reserve was met , after winnig the car onwer writes an email that he made a mistake on the reserve price. He told me it was 16 cents and some change , but that can not be the case or the reserve would have been met immediatly. I think the seller should have sold me the car its a biding aggrement and how can you list a car all week and the reserve was met for at least three days and not know there was a mistake until its time to deliver the car. This was absolutly wrong.
