1986 Chevrolet Corvette

Hey this is a 24 yr old car you got to do what you feel is good for you! the parts can be had so thanks ebay for making my childhood dream of owning a vette reality!!

I like the Corvette, I have issues with the seller, I picked up the vehicle the next day after the sale on May 5,2009, It is now May 28,2009 and I have not recieved my registration. I have spoken to the seller and he blames this on his worker who handles the paper work. On the day of the purchase the seller had me fill out the review in his office. The seller told me he would find out where my paper work and plate is and get back to me he has not. I would not purchase from this seller again.

Decent car for the money, but the dash boards are problematic. Still for the price that you can buy them at, the car is worth the money.

The 1986 Corvette is Chevrolet's top of the line model. It's designation is C-6 meaning the 6th body design since it's inception in 1953. It sits low to the ground so larger sized owners or those with disabilities may have some problems entering and especially exiting the car. Once inside, the car seems to wrap around you. The seats are very comfortable though wear quickly due to the perforated leather splitting. The dashboard is digital and easy to read. The wiper controls are convienently placed on the drivers side door panel. It was designed for not just great speed (which it has) but also comfort. All knobs, buttons and readouts can be accessed without taking one's eyes off of the road. My car had quite a bit of wear especially in the interior. Both seats and the carpet needed replacing. Parts are especially easy to come by and great deals to be found on ebay. The former owner included the door panels, radio antennea and shift boot. I had always wanted an entry level corvette (30 years!) and this was the best car at an unbelievable price. A great transaction all around!

I'd always wanted a vette to rebuild and I got an excellent deal. I purchased it from a soldier going to Iraq and he needed the money. He is doing his part to keep me free so I helped him out.

Overall the car is wonderful. Being a 1986 model it has some issues that need to be addressed. I have found some areas that were not disclosed to me before I purchased the vehicle that were not operating but had been disconnected or grounded to avoid in car computer identification. Luckily the great price I got the car for allows me to make these repairs without making the purchase a bad investment. I bought the car as an investment/project car. Now after making the necessary repairs I may keep the car for awhile and enjoy it. Overall it was a good investment.

After having owned 2 corvettes, I chose this one because of the look,and it has a trunk and the engine although being a 350 is very good on gas miles.I think by 1986 chevy had ironed out the bugs in the C4 series.And then every year after added and improved them. Taking off the glass top is a real hassel,and you have to turn sideways to get out,or you just fall out, that works also, lol.Very good steering but watch out in the rain. Unless you like spinning around in circles. Very fast pickup but runs alittle hot when sitting in traffic. Overall it is a nice looking car for the price. Used cars can be many styles for under 10,000.00 and this one looks the best to me.

The reason I bought it was the price. I don't know any males that wouldn't like to own a Vette. I was a little worried about buying a car on ebay. So far things are ok. The car has a few problems not told to me. I think I can fix most of the problems. The Ebay ad said the inside needed detailing. Most of the inside needs replaceing. I guess when you buy a 20 year old car you have to expect some things are just old but not broken. Many Vette owners would not let the car go that bad. I have not driven it much, just drove it home and started to work on the problems. The weather in Wisconsin winter is not Vette driving weather. Come May I will be tooling the roads.
