1981 Chevrolet Corvette

why would anyone want to buy a new so called performance car when you can get a great deal on a older true preformance car like this corvette . no computer no air bags handles like a dream my corvette has some prformance goodies in the motor and it turns heads everywhere i go!my kids want corvettes now too.i say screw emissions and the government if ya want a really cool car get an older vette you will be very happy you did!

I purchased this corvette on Ebay. It was more than advertised as to it's condition. Though still a work in progress, the work and money spent on it was well researched and performed. I am pleased with the car and look forward to finishing it out.

Original 1981 Corvette. Paint is perfect, only 12,400 miles on car. Interior is good. Overall a great survivor.

I bought this vehicle based on the sellers description. I didnt even get the car 100 miles down the road and it broke down. After running it through a certified mechanic there are several things wrong with this car that the seller conviently did not list. This car was very badly miss represented on sellers ebay description.

Great look to this car takes me back to bein a teenager. dislikes...interior is kinda cramped and has a rough ride.

I bought 81 Chevy Corvette,I decided to buy it because I like this vette and seller had correct pictures and information. I shipped this car to Europe and I did not saw it before. Car is like I hoped, in great condition,drives well.

I have never had a car that just drew in so much attention. I have really enjoyed driving it as often as I can. People come up to me and just start asking all kinds of questions about the car. They want to see the inside and of course the guys all want to see the engine and hear it run. I plan to put the car into some car shows just to see how it does. I highly recommend that if you always wanted a Corvette that you buy one, you do not know what you are missing out on.

After having written my last post I decided to investigate further the "investment value" of the C-3 Corvettes. Having purchased this car, a gorgeous 1981 hite/red Corvette on Ebay for 6000.00, I decided to look into my "investment. I own 12 C-3 Corvettes and would buy 12 more. The C-3 is the best of the best, and I have never mistaken it for a Mazda GLC, like the 4's and 5's.
Okay, how'd I do. Knowing it all and only one car, likecars having bin at 12,500 (and being gone in 12 hrs) and topping out at 20,000.00. Good investment! I see a wrecked 81 with a crappy interrion at 7500.00! Is this a good deal? Although it looks like a eal winner, my car is not for sale...
There is the rub, a good investment is only a good investment if you SELL for more than you paid. I have good, hard earned American dollars (yes, I own some Canadian too) that sits in the bank drawing 4.5%, of wich 31% will be taxed when I claim it (annually!) and the I will pay 7.5-10% to spend it. My 401's bounce around like a ballon filled with lead. Whats too loose? Immediatly available "excess capitol?" No, sir. There is not a loss to be had.
Hence, the purpose of this extended rambling. As woih my other post, but this time with real hard fact ( I have put my money where my mouth is here) I consider the 74-82 Corvette C-3's to be the best up and comming investent in the automotive world.

I HAVE WANTED A CORVETTE FOR 40 YEARS. I FINALLY DECIDED TO BUY ONE. THIS CAR HAD THE BODY STYLE THAT I WANTED, IT HAD LOW MILEAGE, AND A FAIR PRICE. I PUT IT IN STORAGE FOR THE WINTER, SO I HAVEN'T HAD MUCH CHANCE TO CHECK IT OUT OR DRIVE IT. I DROVE IT ABOUT 225 MILES HOME. IT WAS AN ENJOYABLE RIDE. IT HAS A FEW MINOR ITEMS WRONG WITH IT THAT WEREN'T MENTIONED, SUCH AS THE HORN DOESN'T WORK, THE DOME LIGHT DOESN,THE VANITY MIRROR IN THE PASSENGER SUN VISOR IS MISSING. FOR BEING 27 YEARS OLD, IT ISN,T IN BAD CONDITION.
