1980 Chevrolet Corvette

The Vette was everything the seller said it was. It was the car I was looking for; and have always wanted. I bought it because the price was right.

The listing on e-bay shows this car to be a top notch car and it also reminds us that all cars are USED. When speaking with the buyer he confirmed that this car was top notch. The car showed to be a pretty red corvette with great red paint, upon arrival much to our surprise the car was not quite what we invisioned. The car was a bright red and even still had the tape from the paint job which wasn't very good. The motor carrier had already unloaded the car upon our arrival. While unloading the car the power steering line came loose these things happen and can be understood. The car did not even have windsheild wipers on it. The big shock was when we cranked the car up it smoked awful. We called the seller at this point and he and I discussed this situation and he aggred to give me my money back less the shipping back. It has been a month now and still haven't got my money back. I hope that all buyers in the future follow the lines and always check the cars out even if the have a money back guarenteed.

I TRUSTED THE INTEGRITY OF THE TRANSACTION BECAUSE THE SELLER HAD A GOOD FEEDBACK RATING. THE SELLER THAT ADVERTISED THIS ON E BAY, SAID HE WAS SELLING THIS FOR A FRIEND, BUT THE FRIEND SOON BECAME SOMEONE "I ONLY MET A COUPLE OF TIMES" AFTER REPORTING PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM WITH THE CAR.. BUT THE CAR BROKE DOWN TRYING TO DRIVE IT HOME, ONLY 400 MILES
WHEN THE AD ENCOURAGED SOMEONE TO FLY IN, AND DRIVE IT HOME. THE ENGINE WAS NEARLY BLOWN, AND NOT THE ENGINE THAT WAS STATED IN THE AD. THEY STATED LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON AN "EDELBROCK CRATE MOTOR", COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS A STOCK MOTOR FROM A CHEVY TRUCK, THAT WAS BUILT UP, AND HAD MAIN AND ROD BEARINGS THAT WERE CLEARLY STAMPED "1998", I CONCLUDE THAT THIS WAS WHEN THE MOTOR WAS REBUILT! THE MOTOR HAD A "WIPED" CAM, 7 BROKEN LIFTERS, THE OIL PUMP GEARS WERE ALL CHEWED UP, AND OF COURSE, THE MAIN AND ROD BEARINGS WERE GONE..SURELY NOT A NEW EDLELBROCK CRATE MOTOR. THIS, TO ME, WAS FRAUD IN THE WORST KIND OF WAY!, THEY STATED LESS THAN 200 MILES ON A NEW REAR END, WHEN ACTUALLY THE ONLY THING NEW IN THE REAR, WAS ONE OF THE HALF SHAFT DRIVE SHAFTS! AND, THE REAR END WAS ALMOST DRY OF ANY GEARBOX OIL!
THE TITLE WAS NOT CLEAR, ACUTALLY, HAD A FORGED SIGNATURE ON IT, AND WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A GOOD TITLE AT THIS TIME. THIS HAD TO GO TO COURT IN MEMPHIS TENNESSEE..THE SELLERS LIED ON NEARLY EVERY DETAIL OF THE AD, WHICH WAS NOT AND COULD NOT BE VERIFED UNTIL WE HAD THE CAR IN OUR POSSESION FOR SOME TIME. I NEVER HEARD FROM THE SELLER AGAIN, AFTER HE TOOK OUR MONEY..HE JUST DISSAPEARED INTO THIN AIR.. NOW, I ADMIT THAT I MUST HAVE BEEN AN IDIOT TO HAVE BOUGHT THIS CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE LITTLE GUY WHO WAS LIED TO, DE FRAUDED, CHEATED, RIPPED OFF, AND LEFT OUT IN THE COLD..
WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO COURT IN MARCH TO ENFORCE THE JUDGEMENT THAT WAS AWARDED TO US FROM THE COURT...WE STILL HAVE NO TITLE, AND THESE FOLKS ARE APPEALING THE COURTS DECISION TO REFUND OUR MONEY...THIS CAR COST US 6200 TO PURCHASE, ANOTHER 2000 IN PARTS TO REPAIR THE ENGINE AND REAR, AND THEN 1750.00 TO PAY A LAWYER TO TRY TO GET OUR MONEY BACK, OR THE TITLE, NOW, THE LAWYER WANTS ANOTHER 2000 TO DEFEND US IN THIS APPEAL...DOES ANYONE ELSE SMELL THE BILE??
I REALLY DONT KNOW WHY E BAY ALLOWS A AUTOMOBILE LISTING WITHOUT A VIN NUMBER, THATS HOW THIS ONE WAS LISTED...E BAY SHOULD TAKE ON THE TASK OF CHECKING VIN NUMBERS AGAINST STOLEN DATA BASES, ECT, WHEN THE PERSON IS LISTING THE ITEM..
NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WOULD NEVER, EVER, BUY ANOTHER E BAY VEHICLE..THANKS TO THIS, I NOW TRUST NO ONE, NO WHERE, AND THAT IS VERY SAD..

As an antique vehicle this car needs interior work and after delivery I discovered it also needed some body work where the fiberglass body had come unbonded from the metal frame or other fiberglass panels. This is not an unusual problem but one I didn't expect. I have been very successful buying interior parts on Ebay and direct from after market suppliers, so the only issue is having the car in the shop at our local Corvette Restoration expert longer than I would like. This will never be a first quality show car since the engine and transmission are not original. It will be a fairly high quality drining car that will certainly turn heads and bring alot of fun.

Try and get a 500 benz in black or white 2006, or2007 would be good thanks again happy hoildays

We decided to buy this car because it was described to us as a like new corvette, everything replaced and in top condition. We paid $300 to have the seller bring it to us. It had MANY yellow paint spots showing through the new red paint. The passenger window would only shut if the door was open. There was a huge uneven gap in the drivers door where it was put on incorrectly. There were several problems with the dash. This car was misrepresented and we were out $300 to find that out PLUS the guy gave us a negative because we would not purchase the vehicle as it was.

This car was clearly misrepresented by the seller it had body repair's that anyone could pick out and this seller said to be in a car club and i was not allowed to see this car till after the purchase and felt obligated to take it since i was the winner of the bidding process and the check had already been deposited and the seller was not where the car was left to be picked up and i could NOT get hold of him at the time i got to the car. On top of all that the check had to be written for one hundred dollars over purchase price and seller agreed to put that money in the glovebox and did NOT plus left the car on empty, a quart low on oil and tranny low as well on a sunday with me not knowing the area. I AM SUPRISED EBAY let's him comtinue as a seller. BUYERS BEWARE

I APPARENTLY love these 1980 Corvettes, as I have owned a total of 3 for 23 of 25 years , as well as a 1972 Convertible.... but I think the molded in spoilers (front and rear) make this the best looking C3 ever made! The older classics typically have a good ownership group with most of us maintaining these as pleasure rides for the weekends. The L-82 is the choice for a collector as its the last of the C3 Muscle Vettes! If you are taller than 6-2, you will be a little cramped, not bad, just the seats will NOT go back any further for taller people! The ride is pretty good especially if you change out to the fiberglass rear springs, the handling is awesome, and the thumbs up and looks you will get are worth every penny you spend on these disappearing jewels, right now they are a great value, not sure how long that will last! I am sure they will start taking off for the collector market pretty soon, I hope so!
