What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I was looking for a 21st birthday present for my grandson who joined the Air Force. He will turn 21 overseas and I wanted a really special suprise for him when he returns. I hunted for quite a while before I found a car I thought I could afford to buy and fix up. The seller I bought from had a 100% positive feedback and with the buyers protection I thought I was covered. Unfortunately the seller wrote a description that was seriously misleading. Many parts were missing,(none were mentioned) a new carburator was listed as included as was supposed to come with the car. It wasn't there and when the e-bay rep contacted him he acknowledged that he hadn't sent the carb and that he had no intention of sending it. The buyers protection did help me with the rebuilding of the transmission. The buyers protection program sounds a lot better than it is. In my case it seemed more like a sellers protection program. The buyers protection program does not cover any item that costs less than $1,000.00 dollars to fix/replace. Since the missing carburator lists for around $600 it wasn't covered. The fan shroud was about $300 so it wasn't covered. The new paint job is going to be just over $2,000 but paint isn't covered at all. The interior was described as "not bad" but it was trashed, most of the plastic/ vinyl /leather, was broken or torn and way beyond fixable so replacement was the only option. The protection program doesn't cover interiors at all, even though the cost of replacing all of the parts is nearly $2,000. There is more but you should get the idea. Don't rely to heavily on the Buyers Protection Plan or on 100% positive feedback if a seller decides to scam someone to sell an automobile there is really nothing protection plan will do unless each components repair/replacement costs more than $1,000 individually, it does not allow you to add the costs of more than one part to reach the $1,000 threshold, they must cost $1,000 or more individually. As far as the seller goes apparently they can out right lie as the fellow did in my case, and aknowledge it and still nothing can be done about it. I won't be buying another car this way unless it is close enough that I can travel to where it is an look at it in person.

MY HUSBAND BOUGHT THIS CAR. HE HAD A VETTE TEN YEARS AGO AND SOLD IT. SO IT HAD BEEN ONE OF HIS DREAMS TO BUY ANOTHER ONE. SO HE FOUND THIS ONE. THE SELLER HAD LISTED IT AS A VERY GOOD CAR, WITH DECENT RED PAINT, TRANSMISSION SHIFTING SMOOTH, ALOT OF KNEW PARTS AND SO ON. HE REALLY MADE THIS CAR SOUND SO GOOD. WHEN WE GOT THE CAR IT WAS EVERY THING BUT GOOD. THE PAINT WAS IN TERRIBLE CONDITION. THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD ALONG WITH THE REAR END. SOME OF THE NEW PARTS TURNED OUT NOT TO BE NEW. PARTS THAT WERE SHOWN IN THE PICTURES WERE REPLACED WITH OLDER PARTS BEFORE WE GOT IT. WE WERE VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE. WE CONTACTED THE SELLER AND HE LIED ABOUT EVERY THING, TELLING US THAT THERE WASN'T ANY THING WRONG WITH THE CAR, SO WE HAD TO TURN IT OVER TO EBAY AND LET THEM TAKE CARE OF IT IN WHICH THEY DID TAKE CARE OF THE TRANSMISSION BEING FIXED. THE CAR CAN BE MADE INTO A BETTER CAR, BUT AFTER SPENDING AS MUCH MONEY AS WE DID ON THE CAR BUYING IT, WE DID NOT EXPECT TO START SPENDING A LOT MORE TO REPAIR THE CAR. WE LEARNED FROM OUR MISTAKE. IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.

I purchased this vehicle without first seeing it. A leap of faith to be sure. I was not disappointed with the purchase. Steve is good to deal with both prior and since the sale and was honest in stating the condition of the vehicle. There was no problems with delivery and I'm sure I will enjoy the car for years to come. The car is 35 years old and quite the looker with the fresh paint, interior and wire spoke wheels. Like any old car there is always the oportunity to tinker with things as they break. This is something I enjoy doing in my spare time. The car will be used for a pleasure cruiser by myself and my wife.

I looked for a vette on eBay for quite some time. I finally found mine locally after getting ripped off via eBay from a false second chance offer. I bought my 75' Stingray for $1,600 & drove it home. That was 2 1/2 yrs ago. I will pick it up later this month after having it professionally restored. I will have @ $28,000 in it, but it's the car i've always wanted!

HI VETTE LOVERS I HAVE OWNED FOUR VETTS GOING BACK TO A 64 SOFT TOP I BROUGHT WHEN I CAME BACK FROM SOUTH EAST ASIA. THEN A 63 SPLIT BACKSHILD, SHOULD OF KEEP THEN A 70 I BROUGHT NEW, THEN MY LAST ONE A 80, BUT SOLD WHEN WE BROUGHT A HOUSE, NOW I BROUGHT THIS 75. IT WAS A ONE OWNER AND WAS IN GREAT SHAPE,AND I PAIDED HALF OF WHAT IT IS WORTH. I CANT SAY ALL MY DEALS HAVE BEEN GOOD ON E-BAY MOST OF THE VEHICLES I HAVE BROUGHT WERE JUNK. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM E-BAY UNLESS YOU EXPECT A SURPRISE, MOST SELLERS ARE SELLING A USED CAR THEY DONT WANT. I BROUGHT THE VETTE FROM A DEALER THIS WHAT I WOULD DO. GOOD LUCK AND IF ANYONE NEED A 85 MUZDA PICKUP I HAVE ONE FOR 10000.00 IT IS A NICE TRUCK.CONTACT ME A RONALDB720@AOL.COM.TKS RON

The vehicle had alot left out of the description in my opinion the drivers door hinges were broken apart internally not allowing the door to even open without a great bit of effort and the owner never described this in his listing. The vehicles current state was completely non driveable and the description failed to mention this. So many leaks let me begin .The brakes required new master cylinder and booster ,the valve covers were poorly installed and leaking oil ,the power steering valve body control was leaking profusely and now has blown out so it requires replacement. The carburator is fouled .The original color of the car was white the interior was originally tan.all weatherstrips on car disintegrated the drivers seat is torn in numerous places at seams. The right t-top interior panel is bad the outside chrome trim is broken off the t-tops are chipped off at the corners. The windshield has multiple stone chips so it needed to be replaced. The vehicles paint was awful ,lacquer cracked all over. The old saying buyer beware holds true All of the above is typical of the sight unseen auction format e-bay offers and can be expected more times than not in my opinion.

I bought the car for my wife I have a C5 there is no compraison. The vehicle had a new paint and interior eight years before and should have been in good shape, but the vehicle was stored outside and everything has to be redone. I is ok for what i paid but was addressed as much better. I am in the process of restoring it and it will make a good vehicle when finished. I should have paid a little more and got a better one but this way I know what I have when fifnished.

1975 Chevrolet Corvette: Buying the car of my dreams (taking a huge chance)

I've dreamed of owning an old stingray for twenty plus years and now its in the garage! Thanks to ebay I found exactly what I was looking for, and for the price I could afford. I would not recommend doing it my way, I bought the car sight unseen without doing a carfax or back ground check on the seller, I won the bid, wired the money and took a huge chance. I let ebay be my insurance and it worked! I flew accross the country and drove that old vette home without a problem, (a little cold north of kansas city but it was february, totally expected). Everyone said I was stupid, nuts, crazy, out of my mind(including the seller), but my dream car is safe and sound in the garage. If you have a chance to catch a dream, GRAB IT! Ebay is a secure place to take chances.
