What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

This is a great 1971 Corvette (C3) collector car and was purchased as a restoration project. I like the fact that it is a number matching Corvette from the early seventies. It is loaded with options such as: Power Brakes, Power Steering, Power windows, Air conditioning, and a deluxe leather interior. The car was complete with all parts either on the car or supplied in a box. The description of the condition of the car was good. However, a close inspection by me revealed some additional information about the true condition. I found the original hood was modified, the car had been in an accident and had a fender replaced. These details would have influenced the final buying price if made available prior to the sale.
A few things I did not like about the car are: A better description of the overall condition of the car would be appropriate and I would like to have seen better picture quality. The car was in worst shape than I had anticipated. But this was bought as a project restoration car and some of the additional information would have helped to better estimate the project cost.
The transit time was pretty good; it took eight days to get the car from the north east to the west coast. The shipping cost was very reasonable. I had to research trucking companies to save money on the shipping costs.
The main reason I bought the car was due to it being complete and with an original “number matching” engine.
Overall, I would purchase another car through this method.

The 1971 Corvette would develop into a more balanced -- though tamer -- performer as the Seventies wore on and the engineers came to grips with the flurry of federal regulations before them. Due to a decrease in compression ratio for 1971, the 1971 Corvettes's base small-block engine ran on mild 8:5:1 compression and was down to 270 bhp at 4,800 rpm. To this end, the potent LT1 small block withered to 9.0:1 and dropped from 370 bhp to 330 bhp. These respective compression numbers also applied to a brace of 454s. The LS5 came in with 365 bhp at 4800 rpm, and a new aluminum-head big-block called LS6 boasted 425 bhp at 5,600 rpm. Clearly, 1971 Corvette engines weren't weak. If they seemed so at the time, it was only in relation to the prodigious power outputs enthusiasts had grown used to in the previously unregulated era of muscle cars.

The ZR1 option available exclusively with the LT1 is significant for engineering, though not many saw production. It was a special racing package that included the solid-lifter small-block engine, heavy-duty four-speed transmission, power brakes, aluminum radiator, and a revised suspension with special springs, shocks, stabilizer bar, and spindle-strut shafts. Since it was competition equipment, the ZR1 could not be ordered with power windows, power steering, air conditioning, a rear-window defogger, wheel covers, or a radio. But the ZR1 package was quite expensive, and few Corvettes were so equipped.

A similar ZR2 package was listed for the big LS6 engine and was just as rare. Per GM policy, 1971 Corvette engines were detuned to run on low-lead fuel -- save the LS6 454, which belatedly bowed with 425 bhp on premium gas. Installations totaled just 188, including a mere 12 cars with a $1,747 ZR2 package, basically the ZR1 with the big-block V-8. This would be the only year for both the LS6 engine and the associated ZR2 equipment.

Otherwise, Corvette again marked time for '71. Styling and equipment changes were virtually nonexistent, and no real tampering was called for. Prices bumped up a bit to $5,259 and $5,496 for the convertible and coupe, respectively. With supplies healthy again after the UAW strike, sales made a satisfying recovery, moving up to 21,801 units for the model year. The coupe had taken a slight lead over the convertible in 1969, perhaps reflecting the T-top model's greater all-weather versatility.

This is the 3rd corvette I've owned, and she's been the best one yet. Engine was completely rebuilt about 17000 miles ago and this 1971 4 speed matching number corvette runs great.Tires are like and look new with plenty of tread left. It has removable T Tops and rear window. Calipers are stainless steel. Gas tank was replaced new about 5 years ago along with carburator and radiator. New air conditioning unit was installed new 4 years ago and still blows cold air. Inside this car is like showroom new dash, door panels, new original seat covers(not after market)All new center consol ,new carpeting All gages work, including new clock and radio along with new speakers.Even new ash tray and cigeret lighter, although I don't smoke. New Speedometer and Tack (Old speedometer had 84000 miles on it when it broke, bring the total milage of this car to 101000 miles but don't forget the engine was completely rebuilt 17000 miles ago.Even had double timing chanes put in at restoration. Headlights, windshield wiper vent and wipers work perfect. A new complete clove compartment unit was replaced along with carpeting plus new jack and full size spare tire. All lights, air, and heater work along with a five speed fan.Engine shifts easy and runs very strong. Inside engine compartment might not look showroom as some do ,but everything is exactly wher it is suppose to be. So if you have a 71 corvette manual from the factory, as I do.And you will if you buy this car! Everything is where it be longs. Electrical, vacume hoses, gas and brake lines are where they are suppose to be along with all hoses and belts ect, ect, ect.. This car also has elec Transistor Start. No points to worry about. Paint job is better then average, is a very light blue, almost to a gray. This car has always been a real head turner. It wouldn't take much to turn it into a real show peice. It's never been hit as long as Iv'e owned it, over 30 years. She lives in a completely closed in garage with a brand new wolf cover made just for her and also has at least five blankets over that to protest her just in case.Their will be a tear in my eye when she leaves home, but I sure would like to see someone turn her into the beauty she deserves to be.I have many, repair documents, and maintenance receipt, repair manuals, books and a lot of spare parts. some new, some old.Everything replaced on this car was brand new. No rebuilt parts were use unless new parts could not be found. I am NOT a mechanic so all work was done by professionals.I'm sure you could drive this baby where ever you lived and not have a problem.Let's talk..Call John in Lecanto Fl at 352-726-8124 and Semper Fi (Always Faithful) as this car has always been to me!Car Item # is 220149517023 It's listed At $26900.00 but don't make a mistake by not placing an offer on this corvette
