What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle: My very first car! Dad Knew How To Do It Right :)

How to keep this under 3500 words? 1988 rolls round and its my 15th birthday. My father rolls up in a beautiful SS396 Chevelle. I had grown up going to NHRA meets with him my whole life so fast cars were my dream. Its a little rough around the edges. He tells me here's your "16th" birthday present. You've got one year get to work. First in order pull the matching numbers BB out (still have the matching numbers engine to this day... only one I didn't blow thanks to his foresight) and put in a small high horse SBC we built together over the year. Swapped the factory 3.31 rear gears out for a set of Richmond 3.90's so it'd jump a little more off the line. Did a little paint and body and man what a car to roll out on the next year. Within a year SBC goes boom.... At 16 redline seems more like a suggestion than a warning :) Next in line a 454 LS-6 450 HP Crate GM engine. Makes it a few more years BOOM again. Too much lead foot. Another BBC a few more years and it takes its tole to the need for speed that zaps anyone who's been behind the wheel of such an awesome car. I have had people yell at me for rapping the gas peddle with them standing behind me from the percussion from the dual factory exhaust. Above all things it is LOUD. Didn't even run the stereo most of the time. Just listen to the engine purrrr till it stopped purring lol. Only car I've ever owned that a stereo wasn't a big deal in. I've had little old ladies come up to me when I was sitting at AutoZone and slap me on the arm and tell me "don't ever sell that car you'll regret it your whole life". I always assure them I wont and that this was my dads second greatest gift to me (life being first). My dad and I were buying parts to put another high horse (looking for 650+ HP) engine together BBC after my last blow up when he died this year. He has forgotten more in his life than I will ever know about how to squeeze all the ponies out of an engine. I dare not go it alone on building my next engine without him. So my car sits dormant. Waiting. But I have a plan and a loving wife. If I cant build the massive HP my dad envisioned (on street gas) from my knowledge... the friendly folks at GM have finally introduced a true beast. I am slowly getting the money together for a ZZ572 BBC, 620 Horse Power and 650 Torque on street gas. I think dad would approve if he's looking down on me still watching my little project. :) Love ya dad

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle: '70 Chevelle SS; The ultimate Muscle Car

I own a Muscle Car restoration shop and we specialze in the 1970 Chevells SS454 LS6 model. We've restored many other cars and find the Chevelle is easier to do because of the availablity of good used and new aftermarket parts. Also, there is so much information available out there too. As a owner of a '70 LS6 car I find the performance is unreal; just mash the pedal to the floor and hang on! The handling is very good if you have radial tires. Braking is also good with the large disc brakes up front. I would always recommend power steering due to the quick response. If you have the seats recovered with new seat foam and covers they are very comfortable. I like having a center console that doubles as an arm rest. If you're like me I like to listen to the oldies on cd so a good stero system is a must and there are some out there that look exactly like the original radio. To sumerize, you can't go wrong with a '70 Chevelle SS454

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle: 1970 Chevelle SS 454 Convertible

Comfort...who rates comfort on one of these beasts? The true mark of a big block Chevelle SS 454 is how uncomfortable it makes you when you nail it to the floor and leave in a cloud of dust...correct? Looking for the cop in the rear view mirror...cause you know you are getting a ticket if he sees THAT.

I bought my SS 454 convertible about 5 years ago. Always wanted one when I was in high-school / college but could never put the scratch together to purchase one so I settled for small block Mustangs and a 1970 340 Duster that was a REAL SLEEPER (for those of you that owned one...you know what I mean)

My boys and my wife absolutley LOVE cruising around in it. Can't go a block without the thumbs up from most who see it. I drive mine...that is what they are for...keep yours nice...but drive it. That is what they are made for and the only chance we have to "hook" the younger kids on them so that when we are gone...they won't crush it... but desire one like you and I do.

I know the full history of mine, from being built in the Baltimore, MD assembly plant On June 6th, 1970 to it's string of owners over the years. Five in total...and it is now with its last owner...until one of my sons get it !!

If you are thinking about getting one...go get one...better investment there than in AIG stock at the moment...more FUN TOO

I PURCHASED A 1970 CHEVELLE ON EBAY MOTORS LAST MONTH. THE CAR WAS SOME WHAT LISTED AS DESCRIBED, BUT CERTAIN THINGS WERE NOT MENTIONED OR FALSELY REPRESENTED. I WILL NOT GO INTO DETAIL. AS A BUYER I WOULD STRONGLY ASK AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE BEFORE CONSIDERING A PURCHASE OF ANY CAR. OVER ALL I WAS NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED DUE TO THE SELLER SAID THINGS WERE WORKING ,THEN WHEN I RECIEVED THE CAR, THEY IN FACT WERE NOT. SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR I HAVE MADE MANY RESTORATION IMPROVEMENTS AND REPAIRED THE ITEMS THAT WERE BROKEN. I RECENTLY ORDERED NEW WHEELS AND TIRES AND I AM ABOUT READY FOR SOME LOCAL CRUIZE INS. I AM NOW ENJOYING THIS CAR AND THINK OVER ALL I AM PLEASED WITH IT. I HAVE SOLD AND PUCHASED SEVERAL CAR ON EBAY. AS LONG AS PEOPLE ARE HONEST, THIS METHOD OF BUYING AND SELLING COLLECT CARS ON EBAYMOTORS HAS BEEN A FUN HOBBY FOR ME. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO MY NEXT EBAY ACTION. THANKS, JEFF
