1998 Chevrolet Camaro

I got a used Camaro with only 45,450 kms on it. It runs great and sits higher than a Mustang. I recomend this car especially if you live out in the country, because it does great on and off road. Also, it has a great speaker system, you'll never need to upgrade.

When we purchased this car, we were told it had a tick in the motor. After driving the car and having the old changed, the oil pressure was very low. Too low to drive this vehicle home as was described in the discussions with the seller before the purchase and during it. We ended up renting a car hauler to take the car home. The seller stated that they would refund $200 to us to cover the cost of the car trailer. We have heard every excuse in the book but still no refund. I would use caution in dealing with this seller. I don't have a problem with the car but with the way it was represented. The seller should have told us up front that the car could not have been driven home. We could have made arrangements for a trailer and would not have had to pay Uhaul for one. At least they could be honest and not give excuses. They should give us the refund and call it a day. I would use caution when dealing with this seller.

the guy we bought it from was honest to the extent of his knowledge about cars. we knew that the clutch wasnt working when we picked it up, but didnt expect the rearend being junk. it needs a new differential, gears, and bearing. so about $1000 worth of parts for the rearend and $250 for new tires because the tires on the car were bald. also not mentioned in the auction. the interior is comfortable and has a few small defects. for example the window switch mount was broken, the shifter boot is broke, and the seat switch piece is just hanging. thus car still doesnt drive because lack of maintance!

UNDISCLOSED MAJOR ACCIDENT DAMAGES FROM SELLER:
I received the 1998 Camaro EB#180255620299 on 7/5/08. Minor repairs were needed topside. However steering binding, both electric windows inoperative, engine missing and leaking oil on my driveway. Unable to drive to Vimar Auto shop, had it towed by Amoco where vehicle placed on lift. This car was involved in an accident, driven over cement barrier or rocks ripping loose torsion bars, puncturing engine oil pan and trans pan. Both quarter panels crushed, front fenders ripped off lower mounts. Major damage to lower control arms and ball joints having pieces of rock embedded in the metal. Power steering gear bent which caused binding. ALL pictures and information revealed to Denise of Autocorpfl on Friday 7/11/08 who will return call today 7/13/08 before filing for VPP. Both AutoCheck and CarFax had no record of any damages. Denise also asked for positive rating before car delivery offering oil change and full tank of gas which unfortunately I was coerced into.

This car is a joy to own and drive. The style is totally within my preferences as the body dynamics and lines flow smoothly. The interior fits like a highly expensive foreign sports car and all controls are easily within reach. The power in this vehicle is very satisfying and knowing that I can pass on short spans makes me feel more safe. Reliability is without question and 'fit' is exceptional. With the top down, it's like sitting in an IMAX panoramic theatre with nature all around. I have five vehicles and the only other one that I enjoy almost as much is my Harley Sportster only that you can carry on a normal conversation inside the convertible and any speed. I just pray that the new version of the Camaro is just as exciting.

when looking through a price guide they had a scale one to six and one being the show room car. the z that i bought is a three. this car is very driveable. good power range, the transmission shifts are very crisp and on time. no leaks anywhere . minor repairs will need to made and replace of a few items .but , the vehicle is fully functional everything works. the people i bought the car from were ok to deal with . when i picked the car up i drove it over a 1000 to get it home and got about 22 to 24 mpg. the only thing that i got dupped on was the ac i put a can of freon in and had ac the rest of the trip. if you are reading this from ms and the car is from fl. remember ms is one of three states that dont get taxes back . if you drive it off the lot you will pay fl and ms taxes and buying it from a dealer. if you have that car shipped the taxes are not charged to you and you will owe only ms taxes. what a bummer. what do i love about the car ? the power is awsome and i just love the third gen z 28. chevy went out there to make your mouth water before they stopped production . they knew people would ready for gen 4 z's and the ss. i am looking for a iroc z now and will start on a 82 z soon . why did buy the car . well it was in my price range i put x amount of dollars off to the side and i would not go over that amount. what dont i like about the car you have to hand wash it. everything is low to the ground it is a bitch to work on the motor and anything i do, your on your knees. oh well thats it overall i like the car and wish i had a half a dozen in my stable.
