1970 Chevrolet Camaro: Do your research before you buy.

03/06/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I always wanted and early 70's camaro. I searched ebay for several months looking for just the right one for my budget, location and condition. I finally found what appeared to be a great 1970 with a buy it now and I hit it right away. I was very excited and made my plans to pick it up.. Everything was great until I called my insurance company to have the car insured. The insurance company rejected me. As it turns out, the title was no good. After further review, somewhere in the cars life it was assigned a new title, or fraudulent title, with the VIN from a Chevelle. I asked the seller several times to please review and explain what the problem was, but I didn't not get an answer. After asking several times, I had to cancel the transaction,, the car was not insurable and NJ DMV would not recognize the car as legal. When I notified the seller about this, he yelled at me and demanded I pay him anyway, for an illegally titled car. He offered no explanation, threatened me and said he was coming to my house.. He also gave me a strike for non payment. According to all the rules of Ebay, he was totally at fault. The car was not legal. I emailed Ebay 6 times to tell them about the situation and all I got back was canned answers... No help whatsoever.. none, zero, zilch.
So, for backing out on a fraudulent deal I got a non paying strike, bad feedback, verbally threatened and no help from Ebay.. They said I was on my own. Watch yourself.
THANKS !!!!!

1970 Chevrolet Camaro: DO NOT BUY CARS ON EBAY, COST ME A BUNDLE TO FIX OBVIOUS DEFECTS!!!

10/09/11

The rating I provide here has nothing to do with the quality of a 1970 Chevy Camaro. The review has to do with the quality of my transaction and the fact that Ebay buyer protection, while advertized in the auction, was not afforded to me when problems with my purchase surfaced and I reported them to Ebay. The seller I purchased the vehicle from (Motoreum) completely misrepresented the condition on the vehicle, resulting in thousands of dollars in repairs. The defects I encountered were obvious to a blind man (brakes, springs, shocks, struts, a/c, heater), yet when we spoke to the seller prior to the end of the auction, and asked specifically about these potential problems, we were lied to and told that that car was in "perfect" condition, since it had a recent Rotisserie restoration, which was not true. The information we received from the seller influenced the amount we bid on the vehicle, since I would not have bid as much as I did, had I knew of these defects prior to the end of the auction. The seller has not answered my calls or emails, Ebay was of no help, so beware of buying cars on Ebay. It cost me a bundle. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!

1970 Chevrolet Camaro: Second Generation Camaro

08/28/09
• Overall Satisfaction:
This is a great car for the money. Unlike the first generation Camaros the second generations are still affordable.

They are easy to work on and fun to drive and I suggest any classic car enthusiast that is just getting into the classic car sean to consider one.

In addition parts are easily accessible and cheap.

1970 Chevrolet Camaro: My E-bay experience

10/05/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I have been browsing E-bay for several years but did not become a member until July 2008. E-bay is great, I found my dream car 70 Z28 and I am now buying parts to restore it on E-bay. E-bay is tne best, it is easy to use ( if I can do it anyone can) and you can find anything you want on E-bay. I have also met alot of great people on E-bay.

Thanks E-bay

1970 Chevrolet Camaro: Great car

03/15/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I own a 1970 Camaro RS that is a great car. It is a 4 speed with split bumpers. It has the orig engine and rear but the tranny is from a 71. It has the gauge package and everything works. I am the 3rd owner and I have all docs to prove. The car came with a protecto plate and bill of sale. On a scale of 1 to 10 the car is a solid 8.5

I spoke to the orig owner and even sent him photos some years ago. He called me one day and said he was in the long Island area and wanted to know if he could stop by and see the car. When he got here he asked to go for a ride and I gave him the keys. Let it be know that the only people to drive this car since I have owned it my wife and I. When he came back he had tears in his eyes. I figured since he owned it before me he deserved to drive it. Before he left he said he wished he never sold the car. I told him it was a good decision on his part

I would recommend this car to anyone who wants to enjoy the power and feel of an old school vehicle. Although I wish I could drive the car more often we all know thats not possible. You could total my Tahoo but dont even lean on my Camaro
