What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

From this day forward, I will not purchase any vehicle that has not been inspected by me or a service. Perferrably someone from an attorney's office.

these luxury cars are nice sturdy vehicles easy to maintain parts are cheap to buy and easy to get. these cars handle very well and have a smooth ride for a mid size car. these are some of the nicest 4 cyl cars made i own both 86 lebaron and 85 new yorker. the lebaron has 175000 miles and still running strong and the 85 new yorker has 74000 and its just like new and sure there are minor problems but all cars have them these cars just have less than any other i have owned every ford i have had breaks and nissan is junk to work on sount less design flaws with those but the k cars made by chrysler are amazing i have only encountered minor design flaws and most i have redesigned and fixed but over all there is alot of space under the hood to allow it to be worked on easily the only bad thing i have to say about these cars is they coulda designed the firewall better for water drainage and to keep it from holding leaves and dirt and they soulda undercoated it better if u buy one sand the under carrage and undercoat it because it will rust if you dont

I DECIDED TO BID AND PURCHASE 1955 CHRYSLER SINCE IT WAS A RUST FREE CALIFORNIA CAR AND THE SAME YEAR AS MY FIRST CHRYSLER. IM PLEASED WITH CONDITION SINCE THESE CARS RUSTED OUT IN UTAH DUE TO NO RUST PROOFING AND SALTED ROADS IN WINTER. I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE NEVER HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS BUYING ON E BAY AND I APPRECIATE THE GUARENTEES AND HELP AVAILABLE. NOW I JUST HAVE TO EXPLAIN WHY I NEEDED ANOTHER CAR AND WHEN WILL WE BE ABLE TO PARK IN THE GARAGE AGAIN?

1964 Chrysler New Yorker: Middle Child of Automotive History Great Bang For Buck

The stylistic remains of Virgil Exner leave some a little cold, but I like it. The beautiful and flamboyant windshield flows back into a formal c-pillar. The 1964, I would argue, is an improvement over the 1963 because of the re-addition of tiny fender fins and diamond shaped tail lights. This is more in keeping with a formal look and adds interest to the open acreage of the sides. The front bumper, I think, is also an improvement over the 1963 in that it forms around the grill which integrates the bumper a little more. The 1963 front bumper has always struck me as tacked on and is just too much of a departure from the 1962 and earlier Chryslers, which were really integrated into the look.
So it is a throwback (molded bumper and fins), but in a sense it is really a bit of an underdog's car. Not quite an Imperial, not quite a big-finned earlier model, it is the last of its kind and the first of its kind. It is the last for all of the above (the end of Exner, the end of fins, etc), and it is the first of its kind in that it was designed by a committee, not that this is a good thing, but it was what all cars would become. Someone must have looked at the 1963 (tossed together after Exner's scapegoated exit) and thought "we must improve this if only to make it to the next year. So it is a survivor's car too. Hanging on by the skin of its teeth, its neither sexy enough nor ugly enough to be admired by shallow interests. So finally, then, it is a fanatic's car. A special interest for a special girl-next-door. One of a kind, but yet not outrageous enough to get noticed, she still needs love. Conservative and classy with a slightly repressed flamboyance it is not what everyone yearns for, but it is decidedly nicer than what many of us could ever pay for.

Handling: as crisp as you might hope for in 2 tons of steel, thanks to the torsion bar suspension it can keep up, if you know what you are doing. But there is little to no feedback in the steering wheel. The reciprocating ball steering box gives a very high mechanical advantage which is also power-assisted. So you need to know how to navigate and not merely react. In today's tightly-packed roads this means you have to hang back a bit. But that's what cruising is all about. But this is really no different from most of the Chryslers up to this time.

Comfort is great. The car is very wide so it is not out of the question to sleep in the front or back. If they had made the front bench fold down, the whole interior would have been almost a queen size bed. The ride is very nice. Like many of these old cruisers the unsprung weight it huge. The means every bump disappears.

Reliability is great. Simplicity does that. 'Nuf said.

Power is good, but it could be better. Again it is too early to be outrageously powerful, as it was a little late to be outrageously styled, yet still heavy. A cross ram intake improves things, yet even without it there is plenty of wheel-spinning torque, but don't look for 12 second quarters. Getting to 60(mph) will take 8 to 10 seconds. So the fun comes from the torque and the highspeed cruising. You want zippy don't ask it from this classy lady.

What is also amazing is how these things can sit for years and then come back into service. Even the push button transmission controls and the push button heater are not a problem. Everything is so big that it doesn't wear out.

A very nice, classy car with great value for the money.

I put a bid on the beastie, and lo! I won it. I had been looking for a post-war Mopar for quite a while. My first car was Dad's 1952 Plymouth, and I wanted another vintage car before I died. This will make a great "daily driver", but is licensed as a "Collector's Car". For about $1200, I have a car which is wonderful. I love the throaty roar of the straight eight motor and the quality of the workmanship not found in today's cars. Major dislike is the difficulty in finding parts for it. My first purchase will be windshield wipers and then a pair of fuzzy dice. I'm again "Lost in the 50's". Now, where can I find a drive-in movie?

I bought this car after it sat in a garage for 30 years. It didn't run then, but does now. It is in AMAZING condition for being unused for 3 decades. Still has good 4-ply tires on it.

Bought from a young 19 year old kid. I think he is honest but did not disclose serveral items needing repair or replacement. That said, it is a good car that is worth the price.

I bought this old car to restore by the description of the seller who left out its true condition. The car is very rust not as the ad said "The car only has minimal surface rust in the usual places". Would this include rust holes on the deck at the corners of the back glass or the holes thru the right 1/4 panel or that the trunk lid is completely rusted.(open it and it sounds like a rain stick with all the rust pieces running down inside of it.) As well the statement "The motor is a 440 Big Block that moves this car right along with no problem." This car does not run....The fuel pump is bad and the fuel tank is rusted out. As for the inside "The interior is in decent shape considering it's age" would this include the headliner torn and hanging down or the top of the back seat torn all the way accross or the missing inner panel next to the rear seat. The pictures were taken and or cropped so they did not show any of these things.
I will not ever use e-bay for any old car purchase or ever recomend it to others being a used car dealer many people ask me about cars on e-bay I have purchased a few motorcycles and cars on e-bay some good most not as described at all. Maybe thats why they are using ebay because if you saw it in person you would not pay anywhere near the same money for the stuff.
I am unhappy with ebay dispute system it does not work and sellers keep selling junk and lieing about it
