What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

1991 Toyota MR2: Wicked fast pocket-rocket. Get one while you still can!

• Overall Satisfaction:
How I loved my silver bullet, 1991 MR2 Turbo, and how I hated to sell it (on eBay, and reluctantly due to moving overseas).

The 1990's body style looked like a mini-Ferrari, raced away from lights, and handled like it was on rails. At 15 years old and with about 130,000 miles, my unmodified MR2 was still a pleasure to drive. Sure, some minor imperfections were showing up (antenna and window siwtches often fail by this age), and I'd installed a new clutch and some radiator hoses, but I loved that car. I commuted at 40 miles each way, and got about 20 mpg day in day out.

On the downside, the compact engine layout makes maintenance fiddly and a bit expensive - e.g., when I needed those radiator hoses replaced. But you can pick one up on eBay for $6-8k, IF you can find a good one in stock condition. I recommend you create a saved search, and bid what you can afford when one comes along. You'll be in for a treat.

Seems a long way from my current minivan. Ah, memories!

2000 Toyota MR2: 2000 Toyota MR2 Spyder, it's better than you'd think!

Pros.
Price for appearance:
I was looking at the Toyota MR2, Porsche Boxster, and BMW Z3 for my next car when I found my 2000 MR2. Price is cheaper than the Boxster and Z3, and yet I haven't seen more than three MR2's. "Your too young to have a nice sports car like this", ect. are some things said to me. It is commonly mistaken for a Boxster, they are very close in appearance at first glans.

Performance and Reliability:
It's a newer Toyota, and I asked everyone I know that owns a Toyota how they hold up. "Never have to worry about them breaking down." The MR2 has a small 1.8L engine but can pop you back into your seat easily. I took it to the tracks and it beats EVERY car off the line due to it's weight. It handles like a dream, being able to accelerate through the curves. It gets 32mpg, and about 400 miles per tank.

Comfort, Quality and Craftsmanship:
I drive this car for HOURS straight and it is great!
I was driving it down to FL from NY, when i got into a major accident. I walked away from it without a scratch. "The car, for being so small, took the crash surprisingly well." I was told by the police and repair shop. The placement of everything is perfect and well thought out. All the panels are bolt on so easy to repair.

Cons.
It is a small car, so for larger or taller people it might not be as comfortable.

There is no "trunk space" so any major bags or luggage won't fit.
(However I was able to pack everything for college into the car without using the passenger space. You just need to know how to pack for this car.)

With the small 1.8L engine it is fast off the line, but will loose with a long straightaway. (Drop a turbo in it and it'll be unstoppable).

It is a two seater, no attempt of a "back seat" like other sports cars like the Stealth, 3000GT, Mustang. So it is a MAX of two people.

Not sure if its a pro. or con. but the car is low to the ground, and needs to be driven carefully around entrances and exits to parking lots, ect.

Hope this helps in your decision, any questions contact me.

1991 Toyota MR2: Not what was represented

This car was represented to be in very good body ("THIS GUY SPENT ALOT OF MONEY ON THIS CAR. THE BODY AND PAINT SHOW VERY WELL", "THE PAINT SHOWS EXCELLENT THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT IT DOES HAVE A FEW MINOR DOOR DINGS NOTHING THAT THE DENT MASTER CAN'T DUE")and mechanical ("THE CAR RUNS OUT 100% THERE ARE NO OIL LEAKS THE TRANS SHIFTS PERFECT THE FRONT END IS TIGHT")condition. This is NOT the case. The body has many flaws in it that were poorly painted over to cover them up. There is a major oil and transmission leak and just to repair the mechanical issues will cost nearly $3500. To fix the body and paint will require complete removal of the first layer to paint to fix it. I am very disappointed.

After driving my brother's MR2 for a couple years, I had to buy my own! The 1985-1989 MR2 is the perfect combination of performance, fuel mileage and reliability.
The only performance downside is that the acceleration is not as quick as modern cars, but it more than makes up for that deficiency through its superb handling and braking capabilities. If you are mechanically inclined, there are many different ways to improve the acceleration.
Fuel mileage is excellent, the stock motor can get as high as mid 40s on the highway (my two best would be 41 and 47). Even when you drive this car hard, it still gets mid to high 20s (my worst has been about 25).
As long as you keep up on the maintenance, the MR2 is a very reliable car. I use it to drive to school 200 miles away, and the car has never completely died on the side of the road. It has always been able to make it to the garage under its own power.
For those who are mechanically inclined, or are willing to take it to the shop for regular service and want a really fun ride that is also fuel efficient, the first generation MR2 is for you!!!

I was looking at the bmw when I found this car. I luv the look of the older mr2; however this one blew me away! Drives like a dream. Looks like a boxer (much better looking if you ask me). I have the auto clutch. I was skeptic at first because I do not know how to drive a manual. However this is so easy. You can shift on floor or on steering wheel. I like the feel of shifting on the floor though. I get 34mpg. around 400 miles to a fill up. Who couldn't use that now an days? I just love everything about it. 2 seater.. great to me. If you pack right you would not believe what this baby does hold in storage departments.

1991 Toyota MR2: Love the MR2

This is the best sports car i have driven, and with me thats alot.....I have had hondas, fords, chevy's you name it i have driven it or rode in it, this car is as they say the poor mans ferrari. Handeling is a dream, powering in the corners is virtually untouched. speed, and fuel mileage cant beat it. The downsides, T tops leak....expensive to replace and it only takes a few years and your replacing them again....tire go bald quick. rear wheel drive eats um up......but who cares your driving a mini ferrari and the after market kits are incredible....I would pay 10,000 for another and will be looking for another soon.....if you have the chance to buy one, do it you'll not regret it
