1991 Porsche 911: Very pleased with my '91 911 C2 Cab

10/12/12

I have a passion for pre 1999 Porsche 911s. I owned a '80 911SC. I wanted more power so I looked for a 3.6 liter (either 964 or 993). the 91 includes a 20% bigger engine and 30% more horsepower. Plus, it has much better suspension and brakes. The interior is identical in roominess, however, has an improved climate control system and more comfort features (seats, center console, latches, ...).

With changes came some reliabilty set-backs. I've spent more than $1,500 in needed repairs since I purchased the car.

Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great vehicle handling is awesome air cooled engine I can't say any more it is great. Purchased vehicle three years ago great deal and now have done research and price has gone up on these 964 911's. This is one of the best Porsche's I have ever owned.

I love the lines the vehicle has, Porsche has changed minimal things when it comes to this model and newer one. The one that has changed has been the performance and comfort of the vehicle.

1991 Porsche 911: Porsche 911 C2 1991

Excellent handling, durable if properly maintained. Excellent power and excelleration. Paint has held up well over 18 years. Major defect is the area around the windshild is prone to leak and rust. Replacment parts are unreasonably high and aftermarket parts are not available.

1991 Porsche 911: Fabulous Car: 911 C2 with Automatic Transmission

02/19/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
This is my 8th Porsche and I had great trepidation about buying one with Tiptronic. I had never even driven a Tiptronic equipped Porsche before buying this one on eBay. I love everything about it, including the transmission. Also, the 964 is so civilized compared to my earlier 911's (and, of course, my old 356's)but it still drives like a champion. I've parked my BMW 840Ci and this is my new daily driver.

For you skeptics out there, consider this: Hurley Haywood's daily driver is also a Tiptronic. If it's good enough for a three time Le Mans winner it might just be good enough for you, especially if you are (like Hurley and me) 60 or older.

Lest you think I've completely gone over to the AARP school of driving, I still have a 5 speed 911SC and a Tremec 6 speed bowtie V8 conversion Austin Healey (440+ HP on the dyno).

Those who know the 964 know the few negatives already. This one had already had the seals upgraded under warranty.
