What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Best luxury commuter

Bought this car for a comfortable luxury commuter. I have a 140 mile per day drive to work, and wanted a vehicle that would last as long as the payments, while making the drive pleasant. At over 120k miles so far, it has met that goal. The CDI is a remarkable car, pampering the driver with luxurious features and comfort while providing an outstanding ride. Still on the original brakes, suspension and exhaust. Few minor problems, most taken care of under warrantee, but mostly trouble free. The car really does get just about 40 mpg highway when driven conservatively. MPG drops off a bit in cold weather. The only down side is maintenance. I use the dealer to help ensure that the car is correctly maintained. At the level of driving I do, I have service every 3-4 months, at a cost of $250 minimum for basic oil change and checkup. It can run $6-700 for more involved service, still with no repairs. If you have the means to pay for service, it will give you a long life.

My review is not about the vehicles from a manufacturer, but rather the dealers and sellers promotion of them. Beware of the conditios stated, and be in a position to view the vehicle before the auction end. Meet the seller in person, if possible, to get a feel for their attitude. I purchased 2 vehicles, where the first was mechanically sound, but needed many safety & inside corrections. That seller was cooperative about reimbursing me for seat belt receptacles that did not work properly. The second vehicle is a very good car, but the dealer , from the beginning, was abrupt and rude during the entire transaction. I've had to involve ebay to acquire the title and still don't have it after 4 weeks from the purchase ! So beware, see the vehicles, and check out the person selling ! The sellers ratings DO NOT tell the entire story on them ! The buying aspect on ebay is a great way to see and review quickly the type of vehicle you're looking for with great deals in the offering, but watch out for details and the sellers !!

Bought this car as a lease return, 2 years old, with 32k miles on it from a broker. This is a turbo diesel and while it accelerates very strong, and it very fast, it is getting incredible mileage on the highway. I commute 90 mls each day and I regularly get actual 32 to 34 mpg. The car is luxurious, is very solidly build and attractive inside and out. The suspension is probably a little stiffer than most American cars, but you feel you are always in control of the driving situation, no matter what speed and road conditions. I have had a number of Mercedes before, this one is definitely the most refined car I have owned so far. Now that diesel prices seem to get closer to those of gas in the US, in my opinion this is a no brainer over the gas model. I go over 600 mls on a single tank and the car cost me about as much as a fully loaded new Toyota Prius. Guess which I prefer to drive?!

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: 2006-2007 Mercedes E Class CDI A/C Problems
09/23/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
Wonderful car overall but unreliable on trips longer than 2-3 hours when the airconditioning would quit working making trips unbearable having to drive with windows down. Many trips were made to different Mercedes dealers, each thinking and claiming the problem was fixed. Dumped the car after 18,000 miles and six months from new. Bought a new 2007 gas model E Class and had the same problem with A/C on long trips...A/C stopped working. Having the same experience twice in the same year with new cars makes me think Mercedes has a major air conditioning problem that no one knows how to analyze or fix.

2006 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Great car, troubles getting title,

The car is great, just a represented. We had trouble getting our title. We were suppose it get our title two week after our purchase, as they were waiting to be sure our check had cleared. After one month we called and were given the runaround about why we had not received the title. Many phone calls later we told them if we didn't receive the title Next Day Air we were going to contact the state, two days later we did receive the title and we have now received the new title that is in our name.

We couldn't be happier with the car, but not receiving the title in a timely manner blemished the purchasing experience.
