What it's Worth - Price Range Information
Just Sold on eBay Motors
The Just Sold on eBay Motors price range represents the lowest and highest completed sale price for this vehicle on eBay Motors within the last 90 days.
Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value Range
The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the vehicle has been fully reconditioned and has a clean title history. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The range represents asking prices that typically occur for the vehicle model throughout the United States, not all vehicles sell for the exact same price, which is why the company also offers a value range. By showing both the low and high ends of the range the company can better reflect whether a given vehicle's asking price varies widely or hardly at all. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the vehicle's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions. This range includes pricing for used vehicles, not new or late model vehicles.

I love this car and I am in mourning. I noticed a small wet spot in the driveway about 1 1/2 years ago where my Benz was parked. I had the engine checked at non-Benz shops 4 or 5 times and no leak could be found and fluid levels didn't drop. Last week I took it to a regular Benz dealer for a complete check-up, fluid change, etc. The car only has 55,000 miles on it (I don't get out much) and I figured it would last me the rest of my life after seeing a number of really old Benz's on the road and MB's reputation. Estimate included the following: Replace engine front cover seal-oil leak (actually seeping small amount) $686.00 NOTE: Oil leak cannot be repaired unless HFM wiring harness is replaced-shorted out $1,903.00
The car drove fine when I drove to the dealership and when I inquired about this I was told it wasn't shorted out yet, but, when it was moved around to replace the oil seal the insulation would crumble off the inside wires causing it to short out. I did some research online and discovered that the E320's and other models from 1992-1996, or there abouts, have flawed material covering the interior wires which is heat sensitive and crumbles off. The other wiring in the engine is the same way and very expensive to replace. The HFM wiring harness part price is $1,100.00 and 6.5 hours labor. MB knows about this yet denies it is a defect in their design and manufacture. I will probably end up getting rid of my Benz as I will not become a financial slave to a car that cost so much to begin with. I really feel like a fool for ever buying it in the first place and trusting MB's reputation for well built, reliable cars. I'll NEVER even consider
buying another MB product nor would I take one as a gift or prize. It's rather like raising a pure breed dog, and I'll take a mutt anytime. My heart is heavy, my wallet is empty, as is my driveway, and I am really bent that MB won't take responsibility for their mistakes and fix the cars affected by these flaws at little or no cost to the owners. So, 2 thumbs down for Mercedes Benz-all models and years. Be very sure you google Mercedes Benz HFM wiring harness before you consider purchasing one of these duds.

As a Mercedes Tech for the last 35 years, I have purchased my son a 1995 E 320, the last year of the w124. This car is fully loaded and is awesome. The cars power, handling, and suspension is great. The 320 motor is very reliable. The only warning I can give is a head gasket leak, but its common in other cars as well. All available options on these cars are sometimes still not offered on new cars today. I truly recommend this car to anyone. One thing to remember 1995 models and down are the last of "hand built" Mercedes around. W 124 W 126 and W 140 are cars that set examples.

P. S. Mercedes Benz HFM wiring harness it is a problem, but maybe 1 out of a 100. Honestly saw the problem twice in my career in my dealership.

1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Will never sell it....

I was a big fan of the late 60s/early 70 se cabriolets, but wanted a car with modern safety features. I've had this car for 10 years and have approx. 100k on the engine and it still drives like a new car. My only issue with the car has been that the convertible top has had some electrical gremlins which were expensive to exercise - most dealers have limited experience with this model (only 7-8k imported into North America over 3 years). It's understandable. The good news is that most of the parts are shared with the more common E320 coupe/sedan/wagon. I recently had to replace the transmission, but after 120k miles driving in LA traffic, I knew it was a matter of time.

I broke the new car MB habit after the $90,000 2003S430
S430. I now own own two E320 94&95 Wagons. They are great, take care of them and they will last forever. I bought the 94 wagon on EBay with 153,000miles. Amazing car, the 3.2 ltr engine is bullett proof. The 95E320 wagon was also bought on E-bay from a MB dealer with 95,000 miles. **Major problem, hydralic rear shock system needed replacement!$1500. I cannot say enough about the E320 wagon. You need a mechanic that is willing to work with used or EBay parts. Ex: vacumme pump MB$600/used$40. AC controlerMB $600/$40.00**
Major problem/ Bosch air/fuel sensor MB$400/Ebay new MBpart $75.Carry a spare!!Notorous issue. Great ride, strong engine 18city28hwy.Bi-valve waterheater both cars died.Changed the radiator and both aux fans. Age does take its toll of the AC and cooling system. Lots of talk about the crumbling wiring harness.NO issue yet. Great paint and the 8 pass seating handy. If you can find a clean 94-95 E320 wagon it's worth the pain to love the car and enjoy it ride & utilty. I get stopped in parking lots, alot. MB only made this model for two years. Simple electronics, most mechanics can work on this car. I hope have helped in describing what it takes to keep a 14/15 years old MB E320 wagons running. It's really worth it!!

I have 1 E320, 1 of 420SEL. & 3 off 300E & 1 off 300E with 2.8 litre Engine, & last a 280SE, Also had a 300E, with 2.6 litre and still looking for either 400E or E420 (W124)These are the best MBZs
ever made. I have hammered my E320 up 135 MPH with still same engine with 180000 miles on the engine
Without any problem, still has the same Harness & would not sell it I am considering a E55, but W124
is a very well built car in every sense. I get Easy 22 miles to a gallon of gas. Bear in mind these cars have a radiator with Fiber glass tanks, & both Inlet & outlet are on the same side, which is a
problem as these engines run Very hot. As long as you can keep the temperature below 100 degrees &
regular oil change they will go for ever. Compared to other Asian Cars these very well built & easy to maintain. My Bosch Oil filter only costs $8.00 Oil for $30. Front brake pads & sensors just around $55.00 try buying some Japanese & you will hate yourself. Nothing beats a MBZ in Safety & Comfort. Although 300E is a bit slow but a Very Safe bet . I would not Ever buy anything else. I also had a 300E, 1988, at the moment it has over 400000 miles with same engine & trans. It starts with first click of key & still runs like a new car!

a 300E

MERCEDES QUALITY SHOWS UP IN IT'S AGING PROCESS LIKE NO OTHE CAR. WITH OVER 150,000 MILES ON IT IT RUNS LIKE IT HAS 20,000 MILES. MOST MB'S ARE KEPT MUCH LONGER AND ARE BETTER CARED FOR. THIS CAR IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF GREAT CARE AND CUSTODY BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS. LOVE MY BENZ CONVERTABLE. PAY MORE AND STAY AWAY FROM THE ONES THAT NEED "A LITTLE TLC" QUOTE UNQUOTE.......BY UNSCRUPULOUS SELLERS......

1995 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: My 1995 Diesel Benz!

I had been looking very seriously for a used car that operated on diesel fuel for about six weeks. My average commute is 60 miles one way and with gas prices soaring, I began to think about buying a diesel-powered car because of the tremendous fuel mileage and long term durability. After settling on a mid-90's Mercedes, (both for the reputation and its size vs. a Volkswagen), I began searching locally and on the web. I decided to register my search on the "my ebay" list as a favorite and began following several cars. I was a little shocked upon winning this particular car because my bid was the bare minimum as I had reached the seller's "reserve" and signed off late one night. As luck would have it, I won the car and contacted the seller immediately and placed the required deposit through Paypal. The seller was very friendly over the phone and very accomodating since I decided to fly to North Carolina amd pick the car up at the dealership in person in order to drive it home.
My reasons for picking the car up instead of having it shipped were varied. Of course, I was very excited. Afterall, this is my first Benz! however, I was also wanting to save money on the shipping costs and get acclimated to the car. Besides, the best way to find out the faults of a car is by driving it. I wanted to find anything that my inspection and Carfax info. may have missed.
The car drove and felt wonderful. I was so pleased to get over 640 miles to a single tank of fuel!(averaged 32m.p.g.) This is in a full size car too, not a small compact car. The ride is very nice and I am very pleased with the overall condition and operation of the car.
As for problems, I always expect some problems to arise in a car that's more than 10 years old and has 215,000 miles on it. The only real flaws have been in a slow operating sun roof (which I can adjust), worn tires and this past week my A/C quit cooling. Tires were easy to fix, but the a/c will be a bit of a pain since the dash will have to be removed and some expense put into the repair. This is a fair trade off in my opinion for the excellent mileage I'm getting and the saving of wear and tear on my real pride and joy, my 2002 Chevy Impala!!!! My only other problem was with the sometimes slow communication with the dealer, but as I said, they were kind and accomodating when we did speak and do our transactions.
