If you don't want attention, do not buy an MGTD. It's like being a movie star. Really!!!
I am typing these words because Ebay will not post this unless I have a certain number of words. Bla bla bla.

The bottom line. Summarize your experience with this product in one sentence.

1952 MG T-Series: The worst ever

This is a seller that you must take out as a Ebay seller, he is not seriously with his deals, I took a trip to US to review the item, I request the papers for the car and he said that he had a bill of sale, when it is pretty obvious that if I need to export the car from US, I need the title, and the title stated as clear on the Ebay description. Worst transaction ever.

This antique MG turned out to be a perfect restoration. I have never seen anything as beautiful and in such good running condition. I am very happy with this purchase.

1953 MG T-Series: a very curious car

It is a hot rod, a toy, and as such it is suitable only for local driving. I found out driving some 2800 miles home that it is not an ideal cross country tourer. It is a curious amalgam of old and "new." The body is steel, and wood-framed, as original--but the fenders are not original, nor is the radiator and fender brace. And I have been able to find nothing about a reproduction that matches this. It might be a one-off, as unlikely as that seems.

As described by the previous owner, the engine does not overpower the vehicle. Indeed, it is rather pleasant to drive, except the steering is heavy (possibly due to the mass of unsprung weight of the large tires and wheels). A large number of replacement pieces are readily available. I will probably replace the seats, which are too large visually. Other than that, and fixing up things like door latches, I will leave the thing much as it is. It will always be a hot rod, and that is OK.

1953 MG T-Series: 1953 MG TD

10/03/09
• Overall Satisfaction:
I had been looking for a classic British car for some time. This one just stood out as original and in very good condition. For a 55+ year old car it drives and handles nicely and is a real head-turner wherever we go. I am very happy with my purchase, and would do it again on eBay.

1953 MG T-Series: Great Car - the MG TD

11/03/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I fell in love with the TD as a teenager about 40 years ago when they were popular in the British colony where I grew up. It has been my "daily routine" for the past 10 years to check out the TD's available on eBay and elsewhere on the internet. I bought my TD recently on eBay after a few short email & telephone exchanges with the owner, and I visited the owner to conclude the financial transaction. Overall, I feel that I purchased a car in better shape than expected. It's a dream come true to have a car that is as old as me!

I love the long snout, sweeping front fenders, crank handle (to start it if the battery is weak), separate headlamps, airiness, and overall simplicity of these cars. It attracted many people at a car show recently - because of its simplicity and elegance. I am yet to become very familiar with it and enjoy it on the highway in the same manner that I enjoy driving my 1971 MGB that I purchased 7 years ago to give me something to do while waiting for my TD - the B has worked well even as a daily driver.

I recall a Honda scooter slogan in the 60s' - "You meet the nicest people on a Honda" - in like manner one can truly say that you meet some of the nicest people in and around MG cars!
