I bought this used 1999 GMC Suburban online. Crazy, right? Well, all I had to go by were the pictures and a discussion with the seller. Well, I would rate my experience with this vehicle and with the seller as extremely satisfied. I had it inspected by a mechanic that I trust and he reported that the vehicle was very clean underneath with no substantial rust. I put 4 new tires on it (which I knew I had to do before I bought the vehicle) and replaced the front brakes. The only major problem is that the automatic door locks do not work on the driver's side. This vehicle has already taken my family on a 5 hour trip to Indiana and a 6 hour trip to Kentucky. No major issues to report. I would strongly recommend this seller.

I bought this Suburban because it had lots of room and is comfortable to ride in. This one had excellent care and no rust. I can pack family and luggage in it and still ride comfortably. Gas mileage is no worse than my 94Jeep Grand Cherokee. 4 wheel drive is available when needed but 2 wheel is just fine for most of the year. I wouldn't use it for errands around town but any travel and shopping it's great.
I just love it. It's a good value for the price.

Car was exactly what we were looking for. Seller was honest, car was not too far away, drove it home. Some minor repairs and a set of tires since, but overall just what we needed.

The vehicle was everything the salesman described. It had a few bugs that was easily fixed and for a 1999 the vehicle was in excellent shape. These vehicle are not known for their fuel efficiency, but as far as comfortable ride they score very high.

I needed something I could move a lot of equipment around in. This baby right here will definitely do that. I'm also 6'5" tall, and big, so I needed some room. Very comfortable leather interior, nice strong engine, convinient "barn door" setup in the back, and tow package and tow hooks make this a great truck for work and play. I admit, the gas mileage isn't great, but in trade for the power, safety, and comfort it provides, it's worth it.

This seller is a liar. I asked what will the vehicle need when I get it, response, nothing but the windshield and radio. What it really needed was tires, right sideview mirror, brakes, control arm, balljoints, driver door handle, speakers, power steering hose, windshield washer reservoir, 4 x 4 work, A/C work, front end allignment, and finally tranny work. I wasn't asking for a perfect car or a perfect sale, but most of this stuff could have been noticed in a quick check of the vehicle.
Oh yeah, after the seller gets your money he stops answering your calls making the transaction seem a little scary. I had to call more than 160 times before his assistant finally faxed me a bill of sale. Come on use common courtesy. I have saved this seller for the purpose to never buy from him again. I had an awful experience. Save yourself from this seller!

Lots of power! Great vehicle for towing. Ride is a bit bouncy when not loaded due to being so heavy duty. This vehicle has 107,000 miles and still runs great, no rust except the back bumper which all 90's gm trucks seem to rust there.

The price on this class of vehicle has plumetted in the last 6 months...I bought mine as an extra transport vehicle...a spare..yeah it only gets 12 miles a gallon, but when everyone wants to go one [place at one time...it is cheaper than taking 2 cars and the whole family travels and laughs together. Check out these prices...compare with the LOAN value and add 10 or 20%...it is much more accurate than the proivate sale or retail. The loan value will be the first to fall on a line of vehicles that has "lost favor". If you have the money, now is your time to buy!

This vehicle is a large capacity vehicle, which suits our needs very well. The problem we are encountering is an apparently intrinsic issue with the ABS system. The "regular" brakes work well, but the ABS system kicks in every time you use the brakes; so at the end of the braking at a stop sign, etc, the car turns on its ABS system and stops with somewhat of a "skidding" sensation. We put ove $400 into new sensors, to no avail. This is the reason for the "average" ratings. The power locking system has given us a few hiccups, but it seems to have worked itself out. The MPG is low, but this is to be expected. The physical/cosmetic condition of the car is completely acceptable, a few minor cosmetic issues, but nothing that would bother us in the long run. Overall, we have had a positive experience with actual VEHICLE itself. Considering that the vehicle is 8 years old and has over 104k miles, we are pleased with the condition in which it was received.
