Ford Ranchero

like i need another project....this one is quite a huge undertaking. but should be sharp when done. but getting parts off of ebay is too easy. now if I could just find someone to do the work for me, that would be nice.

Vehicle was not as described. Seller was a Con Artist and a Liar. And he is going to get away with it. Regret buying the Truck.

I fell for this Ranchero when I first saw the car. I have been looking for a new project car to keep me busy in retirement and I knew this was the one. What sold me was the underbody pictures and overall pics showing that the body was fairly solid. The chrome was all there and in great shape. When I arrived to pick up car, I started and drove the car. The motor sounded great, I listened with a stick and no unusual noises. It was in original condition without modifications.I know it was restored a few times before and needed a restro, but this was a great project car to start with. This car has all the classic car style lines of the 50's, a truely collectable treasure. Only now I'm begining to see how rare the 58's are. I have found some problem areas in underbody, but hope to repair them back to original. This could be a break even project but I would know how solidly built this car would be. All I was looking for on this vehicle was present and represented well by the seller. (Considering this was my first experience on e-bay I must say it was an overall good one and I'll use it again). It boils down to how the seller represents the vehicle and how much homework the buyer wants to do. The number of pictures of the car helped; by the time I got it I felt as if I did know the vehicle. Mechanically it is right where I wanted it. All major improvements have been done and the Ranchero is reliable with plenty of power. The pay system worked out well, tho' Paypal can be a bit daunting in the beginning. Transport was slick but shopping around really pays off in this area. Luck is always part of any transaction with a used car. Sound out your seller and if he cares about his review (and his Karma) he'll be straight up. But it's up to the buyer to ask all the right questions.
