1970 Ford Ranchero: Total disaster !!

09/08/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I bought this vehicle with hopes that seller was honest and forthright .
This is not the case ...vehicle was a complete disaster ,seller was dishonest in description ,vehicle did not even make it home to San Diego from Los Angeles ...I was stranded on Freeway .since then we have had to replace transmission ,and a host of other items on vehicle ...right now it is still in my driveway waiting a transporter to take it to Texas .....Seller was not acommodating at aLL ...I ALSO HAD TO PAY BACK TAX..he told me if I erased the negative feedback he'd at least send a check for back fees ...I tried to say seller was working on resolving issues ,however I have never received a check ..and he called and cursed at me ,and told me that he wants negative feedback removed before he sends a check ...I KNOW he will not send a check no matter ...Negative feedback remains ,as I cannot with a good conscience recommend this seller .....horrible horrible person to deal with .....horrible disaster of a car not at all what description said ..not even close ........I cant even rate him as poor as he is below even that !
a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! A HORRIBLE DISHONEST SELLER!

1978 Ford Ranchero: Ranchero

03/04/13
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
when I went to drive and pay for the vehicle it was not as advertised in the ad. The ad said all gages worked and they did not, the ad claimed 4 bl carb and it has a 2bl which means different cylinder heads and basically a different motor. The ad said surface rust in the bed which proved to be holes in the bed(no shown in any pictures). The ad said power seats worked and they did not and when i drove it ran so rough and poorly I did not think I would make it around the block. So face to face I told the owner of the vehicle who showed up (it was at a shop not owned by him)that too many problems with the representation compared to the condition of the vehicle.

1972 Ford Ranchero: Car Center of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte, Fl

• Quality and Craftsmanship:
The car is a 1972 Ranchero and is 40 years old. We knew that this was an older vehicle/ We purchased it thru Ebay and called the buyer, Car Center of Charlotte County in Port Charlotte Florida. We specifically called them and asked questions about leaks, rust and the AC. We were told the car they didnt know if it leaks, The rust, not as bad little spots(more then we expected, nothing we cant deal with) But the most important was the AC. We were told it was all there, 3/4 of unit was missing. We were told that all it needed was to be charged. Also car was filled with Expandable foam to fill in holes, The AC is going to need lots of work to remove all this foam. Alot of it was done right before we got there. We just wanted them to be honest so we know what we had to do. We drove 2 1/2 hours over to get car. We put down a 500.00 deposit that we were told was non-refundable. They came back to us after and said that we didnt have to take car and would of given us the money back, which was a lie.

I spent a lot of time on the internet & telephone talking to owner & reviewing his history of sales. He was accurate in describing the vehicle & didn't miss on quality of vehicle. I highly recommend this site to anyone who is interested in buying from him. Nice to know there are still honorable & honest people out there... R Lane

1963 Ford Ranchero: You've got to be kidding

01/20/10
• Overall Satisfaction:
The vehicle is 47 years old and has been sitting in the desert for about a year. The prior/prior owner decided to put a larger sized v-8 engine into the cavity and since it was a bit big for the space, that person butchered the sheet metal. The engine would not allow the battery to remain where the car designer intended, so the battery pack was relocated to the bed of the pickup. To do this, cutting was necessary and that cutting accelerated the accumulation of rust. Now a third of the bed has to be replaced because of the rusted out metal. The cab of the vehicle has the ignition switch on the left side of the dash (exposed) and the cigarette lighter has been relocated to the engine cavity (maybe for a power source)? The windows were non-professionally tinted, so to make the car legal for CA need to remove the film. Body itself still looks remarkedly good. To really do justice to the performance of the car, you need to ask me in six months. Yesterday, I went to the DMV to register the car. Their employee asked me if the car were in the parking lot for them to weigh and check the VIN. After I got off the ground laughing, I explained the six month period before any evaluation could be given. I presume this review is standard for any vehicle sale on Ebay. Kudo's to the just prior owners for honesty and delivery.. Bad marks for the prior owner's degradation of a classic.

1965 Ford Ranchero: Ranchero

11/02/09
• Overall Satisfaction:
The ranchero looked fine on the computer, but up close was another story. It was definately in need of some repair. Oil, power steering fluid leaks told the story. This car had been through a lot. You could see it had been nice at one time, but not now. It needed a lot of work, more than I had to give it. I tried to return it and lost my $1,000.00 dollar deposit. Lesson learned.
