There is nothing not to love about a lipstick red Mustang Convertible...the car speaks for itself! The Ford Mustang is and always will be the true American classic! It is safe and sturdy and the most fun you can have on the open road. It is easy to maintain and requires minimal maintenance. Parts and labor are much cheaper and simpler than their foreign sportscar competitors, and insurance premiums are lower than an SUV.
The only negative thing to say about a Mustang, is why does Ford not improve the gas mileage!!?! It is not like the technology is not available...Lotus has made a 4 cylinder racecar for 50 years, and look at Audi, BMW, and what Honda managed to accomplish with the CRX and 40+mpg. There is really no excuse for cars having fuel ratings less than 30mpg, regardless of size, speed, or luxury accommodations. However, it is nothing that a little after market fuel cell will not improve. The big rarity here was the deal and the dealership...
Buying a car on Ebay can be the scariest experience in the world...this site is a predators heaven when it comes to automobiles. Regardless of everything that is done to try to prevent the con artists from posting their lures, buyers have to stay alert and aware at all times, and must take an aggressive proactive approach in reporting suspicious postings in order to protect this valuable resource and one another.
My first experience was with a guy who did not even own the car, he had just taken pics of someone elses vehicle and tried to fake sell it to about 40 different eager buyers like myself...The next one left me stranded at the Cleveland Airport holding the keys to a vehicle that was so rusted I could not get the hood open; it had a radiator cap in place of a gas cap; the side mirror was taped on with double-stick tape; and it dripped gas from a rust hole in the tank all the way back to Tennessee...Each time I cried, "Never Again!" But still I found myself shopping for the good deal on the dream car right here.
This was the definitive great deal...the car was 5 years old and pampered like a spoiled child, it grew up in Arizona and had recently moved to a little town called Lebanon, Missouri just outside of Springfield, so it did not know a thing about rust. People who live in small towns tend to not drive as hard as the daily commuters, so the car only had 37,000 actual miles on it. It was barely broken in. The only thing missing on the car was the original boot cover for the convertible top, so the dealership ordered a new one, and had it delivered before the end of the auction.
I was still gun-shy from my Cleveland experience, having learned that a photo can be deceiving in a certain light. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes those words tell a story that has little resemblance to truth: so I questioned and requestioned, and the guys at the dealership were what every car dealer should aspire to be. They took several more shots at every angle, performing every feat I could ask them to prove. Those men were the most patient and compassionate people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with in any business situation. The name of the dealership is Twenters, they are a new car franchise for GM, Cadillac, Pontiac, and Buick, and they do not generally list on Ebay, but they should. Ask them to post their inventory! You deserve to deal with honest sellers, and they deserve loyal buyers who appreciate a great deal as well as a great dealership!!!
