1968 Ford Mustang: 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible

04/14/07(updated 04/14/07)
• Overall Satisfaction:
The seller (Matt Pons) should be ashamed of himself for even listing the 1968 Mustang convertible I bought from him on ebay. I don't know what my legal actions are at this point, or what actions ebay can take on my behalf, but I know why he wanted cash or a cashiers check up front before he released the car. I should have used pay pal or a credit card, then I would have had some kind of recourse.
My fault for not doing a personal inspection of the car, but people should not be allowed to sell junk on ebay. This cannot be restored and it is "not" a project car. It has been rat infested, there is no solid metal on the car, it left a trail of rust from Massachusetts to Utah, the delivery driver got a kick out of that.
The only monetary value of this car is the engine, convertible top motor and a few chrome pieces. No brakes on the car. Can't even get the wheels off to repair, they are rusted together. I'm very disappointed with the seller!!
Lubing and repair in the back yard will not be opportunities.
If Mr.Pons has any conscience at all, he will refund at least 1/2 of my money $6,766 plus $1,000 shipping = $3,800.
I don't know where he finds these cars, but they are not worth restoring. (he has another Mustang convertible listed right now, with the same verbage, he is looking for cash again. Listing #200099174492. He has excellent ratings for selling baseball cards, it looks as though he just started in the car business.
I am not rich, I can't put $40,000 to $50,000 into a piece of rusted out garbage, lubing will not fix these doors. Every piece of metal on this car has to be replaced. Shame on you Matt!! The car is not worth the $1,000 I paid to get it here. I got swindled big time, and it is time for this kind of selling to stop.

1968 Ford Mustang: Ebay neds to protect sellers against non paying bidders

05/16/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I have experienced and seen to many times that someone will bid a car up and never intend to pay for it. Ebay is not cheap, the time invested and the money wasted. Ebay needs to take action against the bad bidders now! I've been on since 1998 and every year it gets worse. These people need to get arrested or if ebay won't take action give the information to the seller so they may take it into their own hands. Do I sound mad? YES I am. My sister has tried 2 times to sell her cadilac and both times the person never showed! She needed to sell to keep her home, well it's GONE! But ebay is richer for it! There are many stories like this out there and it just is not fair. EBAY won't you back up your policy on this? you know- this is a legally binding contract- b.s.

1968 Ford Mustang: Not sure about the honesty or integrity of this seller - Beware!

I bought it because I have always wanted one. I liked the car because it appeared to be about 90% completely restored. I do not have anything to compare it to, and I am still awaiting for the seller to work out a deal with me on getting the car. The seller (a son is selling for his Dad) told me that a day or two before the listing ended that the car was rear-ended and damaged. He said he was unable to end the listing because he was traveling. I told him I am still interested in buying it, less the cost to have it fixed. It is apparently sitting at a body shop. However, the seller will not tell me where the car is located, whether or not the person that hit the car had insurance, or will he allow my own guy inspect the car to get my own repair estimate. Under CA law this is still a contract, and I am still trying to work out the details. I still don't know if I am getting scammed, if the seller is making it up because it sold cheap, or if this car was actually ever truly rear-ended. Seller has still not sent me pictures that were promised, given me the location of the car, nor is there an accident report filed (local police dept ran the VIN for me). So for those of you buying anything from this seller - Beware!

1968 Ford Mustang: No support from eBay, PayPal and eBay Motors!

01/07/12
• Overall Satisfaction:
I can only write a test report on conduct of ebay and ebay motors and the seller aerosmithangel1965. Following which I have found that the seller aerosmithangel1965 the mustang sold with incorrect VIN number on me and I've already made a deposit via PayPal $ 500, I have ebay, informed ebaymotors, paypal and the seller I of the purchase agreement has been offered since the car was resigning with incorrect VIN number. Unfortunately, I have my money back no longer seen as ebay, ebay motors and also Paypal helped me at all. I understand the whole advertising and politics from ebay and Paypal does not always nice when they write "Buy without risk or pay" and if it really matters is the ebayer left on his own because he gets absolutely no support from eBay. I've lost my 500 dollars and learned a good lesson to it. Sorry ... but it's safest to buy load in man where the software can take commanding cooked up for the man paid. This is my test report on ebay, ebay motors and Paypal.

1968 Ford Mustang: 1968 Ford Mustang

10/09/09
• Overall Satisfaction:
I've bought 10 cars on Ebay.

This one was the first time I was de-frauded. Ebay's 30 day policy is impossible to follow, when you have to wait for delivery and then once you drive it you realize the car was a piece of junk.
This ebay had 100% feedback, Why? because Ebay's policies prevent you from knowing the truth.

I was ripped off. The seller lied and ebay perpetuates it.

• Overall Satisfaction:
I purchased this vehicle to use for my business and thought it would help draw attention. The vehicle needs work but is 41 years old and has been taken care of well. The party that sold it was very helpful and went the extra nine yards to accommodate me, thanks again. it pays to do your homework and deal with honest people.
