1964 Ford Galaxie: Just a little disappointed.

04/05/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I've been looking for a 64 Ford Galaxie 500, for about 8 years now. And I thought I had finally found one that was in my price range and in fairly good condition for the money, That is according to the seller, well the car was not as clean and pretty as Chris described in his E-bay AD. He also stated that it starts right-up everytime, well that was not the case with this car. When the "Auto transporter" delivered the car to me the battery was dead and the car would not start. The driver that delivered the car stated that he had been trying to charge the battery to get the vehicle ready for me when I picked it up. We finally got the car started but it would not stay on. When I left the parking lot it was OK, as soon as I got to the first light to stop the car Died on me and I couldn't get it started again. I had to have it towed to my house. there are some serious electrical problems with the car, the alternator does not even work, meaning that it does not even charge the battery. And chris also stated that there was no RUST on the car. Well beleive me there is plenty of RUST on this car. I understand that this is an old car.... My only issue with Chris is that Its not in as good a shape as he described it in the AD. He really left alot of things out that he should have told me. $5600.00 may not be alot of money to some people / Chris, but its a hell of alot of money to me. I just feel that Chris really misrepresented the car all together. He is not a very honest person, I'm sorry to say. He also said to me that he will not leave me any feedback until I leave it first."I don't understand this at all". I thought the only thing that I had to do to get my positive feedback was send him all the money as we agreed, well I've done exactlly what he has asked of me, he has been paid in full for the car and now he wants me to leave him his feedback first. Well to be honest with you my feedback to him will not be very positive, I think this is why he wants me to leave it first. THIS IS TOTALLY NOT FAIR. I am strongly considering filing a complaint with E-bay. And I am prepared to take photographs of all the issues the car has, that chris failed to disclose to the buyer.

1959 Ford Galaxie: 1959 Ford Sunliner convertable

I love this car! A 59 Ford was given to me by my parents on my 17th birthday in 1967. I had so much fun with that car, drove it so much the wheels were falling off. I finally ended up taking it to the junkyard. I had some other 59's in my day, but nothing is like one's first car. I'v always wanted another one, but never been able to afford one that was in decent shape. Then one evening while looking at Ford convertables on e bay, I ran across one that was in pretty good original condition. It had been in storage many many years. I read the seller's feedback and learned he had sold some other cars and the buyers seemed quite pleased with his description. So I decided to place a bid but didn't have much hope because the price was so low for what the car seemed to be. So I watched it close and when it got to the last few minutes, I increased my price a little, and watched the bids come in, but I had the highest bid. I knew I had it, so that's when I got excited. After doing the paperwork, getting the insurance etc. the time came for me to rent a car hauler and go get it. I knew it was an old car, that has issues, but I never expected it to be as solid as what it is. The car just needs some tender loving care, and only has minor things wrong with it. I am so happy it worked out for me, so now I am having lots of fun shopping for parts on e bay and getting the little things it needs to be a beautiful car again. It was very well taken care of for a lot of years, and it will continue to get a lot of attention from me and everyone that admires it. Choose your dream car, find it on e bay and go for it! You'll have a lot of fun doing it. Just remember though one can't buy a 40 or 60 year old car and expect it to look and handle like brand new. When you drive an older car you will realize just how much modern technoligy has evolved cars in the last 50 years! Good Luck and hooray for E bay!!

1963 Ford Galaxie: An American Classic At It's Best!

09/03/12
• Overall Satisfaction:

• Quality and Craftsmanship:
This is one beautifully crafted automobile. Brings me back to when American cars were statements on who we are. Lots of chrome and beautiful clean lines. Engine is easy to work on and boy does she turn heads! Not for everyone: no ac, no power brakes, no power steering, no seatbelts! Not a hot rod by any means. But the 289 motor will do what you need for every day cruising. Buy a classic American car today! We need to save these pieces of history... every day there are fewer and fewer.

1967 Ford Galaxie: Seller is dishonest, I was cheated.

08/08/12

I Was not satisfied with my purchase. The Galaxie was misrepresented by the seller. It was represented as a rebuilt engine with no leaks. The body was solid and some minor paint issues, needed a new headliner and the dash had a crack in it. The engine was not rebuilt, oil is pouring out of the engine and the gas tank won't hold gas. The left rear fender has bondo on it and it has a hole in the floor. The seller put a fraudulent listing listing on ebay and gave me false information on questions I asked. I expected a car that was very roadworthy with some cosmetic issues. I can't even drive it on the road. I was taken. I wouldn't recommend this seller to anyone.
