1974 Dodge Dart: 1974 Dodge Dart

02/10/09(updated 02/28/09)
• Overall Satisfaction:
Where to begin :( Over 6 grand for a vehicle that looked good but needed a new engine, tranny & exhaust system - PHEW ! Bottom Line - the Seller took no responsibility when they found out how bad the vehicle was - only that it ran good till the day they put it on the transport for delivery ( Our mechanics could tell someone had chased this problem & ignored it ! ) A good, honest Seller should have offered a partial refund once all the problems were found & that is all we asked for when we found out ! For the sake of E Bay & other Sellers, don't lie, be honest... & take responsibilty, " Once bitten, twice shy, " the one's you hurt is E Bay & other Sellers !! I see Sellers often worried about being " Ripped Off " as tho they are the only one's who are !

1974 Dodge Dart: Awesome!

I dont know what the guy who wrote the other reviews problem is. If you pay less than $5,000 for a classic car, you sure as heck aren't going to get a frame off restoration. Its just common sense, something he lacks obviously. If a car isnt maintained properly, and hasn't experienced the proper upkeep, then ANY car will experience overheating within a few minutes. You arent going to get a classic car for less than $5,000 that doesnt need some sort of work done, whether its major or minor. As for MY experience with the car, it is the new mustang, the new charger. These are the cars that will replace the challengers and chargers and mustangs as the classics to have. They are rapidly rising in value, and if you can get your hand on one for cheap, jump on it. I love mine. Yes it isnt perfect, it has some "Body cancer", but its still a classic, and with the new paint and wheels it turnes more heads than the new corvette or ferrari riding beside me.

1973 Dodge Dart: 1973 Dart Swinger

08/23/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I owned a Yellow 1973 Dart when I dated my wife of 34 years, and when I found this same car on Ebay with a nut and bolt restoration by a Automatic Technical School in Trenton, NY, I couldn't resist buying this car, especially after speaking with the tech teacher who directed the restoration. Finally, since MOPAR B-Body cars are prohibitive in cost, I have found the A=Body MOPARS much undervalued, and the Dart is a great looking car, especially if you are creative in making MINOR changes to the body.

1972 Dodge Dart: dodge dart

• Overall Satisfaction:
I decided to buy it because I love old muscle cars and I used to have a 71 demon years ago and wanted another one. This is my hobby, collecting, fixing and showing cars. I also have a 1966 dodge dart gt that I have restored.

I like the car's interior, color, the paint job, and the condition of it. I dislike that it is only a 318 motor and not a 340, but i do have a 1971 340 that I will be putting in it!

1974 Dodge Dart: Beware of photos!! This car should have been SMASHED!

07/27/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
The pictures in the ad do not reflect that this car is FULL of painted-over Body Cancer. Nor does the ad mention that this car has an Intermittent Starting Problem (sometimes it starts & other times NOT!) _And_ it has a severe OVER-HEATING problem which makes it Impossible to drive more than 2-3 miles! I spent $4,775.00 for a piece of JUNK made to "look" like collectible in great condition. This seller deserves to have this car -BACK- with me getting a FULL REFUND Plus the $625.00 I spent to get it here!! It's called ~MISREPRESENTATION~ plain & simple!!

1968 Dodge Dart: Caveat Emptor

07/25/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
The car is essentially as advertised, though I would never say something simply is running rough when it barely can travel 1/2 a mile without breaking down. The rough part comes from only 5 of 6 cylinders performing...It will take longer, and cost me more than the 1000 purchase price; 500 towing rental, to get this thing in shape.

I bought the car for my dad. He had one when he was younger, but my mom crashed it into a light pole totaling the car out. We have not seen another one until now.

1973 Dodge Dart: 73 Dart 4-door sedan

07/05/08(updated 07/05/08)
• Overall Satisfaction:
This is actually the third Dart I have owned. It's no speed demon, nor does it handle with precision. However, with the slant six engine and Torqueflite transmission it will run forever as long as you keep fluids in it. Based on past experience I expect high 20's on the highway and around 16 mpg in town. These cars are built solid and have a surprisingly large interior. This car had the optional interior which has a bench seat with individual backrests and a pull-down arm rest on the front. The trunk is huge. All of the common maintenance parts are still available from parts houses like Auto Zone or O'Reilly's. Chrysler still has a few parts in inventory, but unless you have the part number the dealers aren't very helpful. These are the reasons I bought the car. The power steering is numb and extremely light to the touch. This car has drum brakes on all four wheels. They tend to grab. Disk brakes are preferred. The Achilles heel of cars this age are the tendency of the floor pans to rust through. Small perforation holes are the norm. These are easily fixed. Not so easy are the big holes you can put your hand through. If you can personally inspect before you bid, do so. Make this a strong recommendation if you are not prepared to deal with this problem.
