This is an older car now. I bought it because it looked cool & a couple family members each owned one (though they were both 4 door models). I like blue & this is also a 2 door. I'm just over 6' & over 260 lbs, so the head room seemed a bit short to me. I haven't driven it much yet, as I need to do some tuning up, adding shoulder strap seat belts & make sure it'll be more ready for State inspection. In the engine bay, this particular car looks to be in great shape! I remember the two other family owned vehicles would stall out on either a right-hand or a left-hand turn (problem with the float in the carbureator), so, I may like to put a throttle body fuel injection system in this, replacing the 1 barrel carb. I'd also like to replace the intake & exhaust manifolds with after marked ones (one after market header is two three-port sections, so will have dual exhaust). It's a 225 CUI slant 6 engine & seems to run real fine, but only after warming up. Since I haven't driven it much yet, I'm not sure if the transmission needs work. It seemed to run fine going forward, but was real hesitant going in reverse. It's a three speed column shift. It has a rust spot in the bottom of the rear window, on the passenger side, & may allow water into the trunk. There looked to be holes in the trunk, where the spare tire is kept. I'm planning to patch these myself. If the car was new, I might give 5/5 for everything but the carbureator stalling out on turns, so my ratings are based on it now, as a 37 year old car. One person said his slant 6 was real reliable, "Old faithful," he called it. That was in a 64 Plymouth Valiant, but the same engine. Dodge Darts may be Plymouth Valiants. 1974 was said to be the first year that the Dodge Dart came with front disk brakes, which I like. I read that this was also the first year that Dodge stopped putting in the, "bullet proof," differential, so that may not be so good. I also read that the '74 Dart still had a problem with the back brakes locking up. This car has air conditioning. It looks like the car was in an accident along the drivers side & some rust is coming from a crack in the rear fender on that side. Overall, this car looks to be in real good shape! On thing, though, is that cars back then didn't seem to be as high off the ground as today's cars, so, I may need to keep my rear-view mirror on, "night mode," when another car is behind me. Then again, who cares what's behind you? :D
