2001 Chrysler Sebring

We love the color(midnight blue/navy top)of the touring Sebring convertible, the chrome wheels and it has a great stereo system! It was a bit stressful to buy sight un seen, but the internet pictures, description, and insurance were very helpful! We have been owners of the Sebring convertible before and wanted to try a newer model. We bought this one on Ebay for the auction experience and price!

This is the new car I bought. everything was supposed to be in excelllent condition. After 1200 miles the engine blew. cost to replace $2650 for engine, $1500 to install, 4 days stay at motel while waiting to find out what was wrong with engine, $240+, 2 trips one to MN to get title card and 08 plates. one back to TX to arrange payment and get engine replaced, $300 + $400 air fare. mechanic not able to finish car on time with his other work so cost for 1 1/2 weeks at motel, $632. Excellent tires had to be replaced after 3000 miles because they had less tread that law allows, cost $515. Front end alignment after new tires, cost $79. When I picked up car it was not winterized, so that cost was $59. For a total of $6,375. So after license plates, sales tax & transfer fees. I have over $12,000 into this car. Not to mention the convertible top that was supposed to be excellent like new condition and the amount of cost to put the top in said condition I have not recieved as of now. ebay & paypal denied any resonsponsbility for misleading if not completely fraudulent misrepresentaqtion of info in the ebay ad. Buy another car advertised on ebay. ebay offers this advise

Yeah, right! denied my claim. said I didn't file the right report. I tried to file the right report but didn't know what the right report was.

Just in case you're thinking of ebay to buy your next car. I recommend that you don't bid on a car until you have looked it over very closely in person. Some ads just don't tell you the real or whole story. It is not possible to travel to every location to view a car because of the cost involved. So, to view the car after putting down a down payment and paying for air fare, It is a poor time to decide this is not the way it was advertised. Later after driving the car for awhile you start to notice excellent is not the description you would use to describe this vehicle. But as far as ebay and paypal is concerned it is too late to file a complaint.

CAR IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE NO DENTS OR SCRATCHES. ALL THE PEOPLE THAT BID ON IT REALLY MISSED A SUPER DEAL.I HAD A CONVERTABLE IN 1956 AND HAVE BEEN WQANTING ONE EVER SINCE. Do not purchase a 2001 Sebring! 20 miles after I received this vehicle from Boulevard Auto Sales, the engine failed. The seller will not stand behind his vehicle, so I paid $6105 + $650 shipping for a piece of junk. Through some research, I found that the Chrysler 2.7 liter engine is extremely unreliable and is prone to early failure. There was coolant in the oil, which caused bearing failure. I tried make a claim on Ebay through the VPP program because the failure took place on the 30th day after the auction ended, and I wasn't able to make the claim until the 31st day. Arrrrggggh! Engine replacement will cost me over $4000, and I paid $175 for a window that was inoperable (undisclosed by seller). Where's the undo button for this deal? I will never again buy a car on Ebay. If anyone has suggestions, please email me.

I bought my 2001 Chrysler Sebring Convertible Limited on Halloween, 2001. It had 21 miles on it when I took delivery.

Since, the car has been all over the United States, and has also been to Mexico AND Canada. First car I've ever had which has been all over North America.

No major issues at all in 8 years of ownership. The only thing I wish the car had was more power, but my other car has a V8 engine, and that is why.

My Sebring vert now has over 71k mi, and has been setup as a "summer" car as I drive my other ride during the winter, and keep the Sebring garaged.

There is a possible issue with the 2.7L V6, from 1998 to 2001, and that is a sludge issue. So I have been using full synthetic oil, and have not had any problems. I know of others who have.

The only option missing? Would be heated seats, and that came out in 2002, so if you want it....get a newer Sebring vert.

If you like driving with the wind, sun, and world open to you, and want enough trunk space to get away for more than 1-2 days, pick up a Sebring Convertible. Spoil yourself with the Limited option.

Btw...it is my 2nd Sebring Convertible, I had a 1997 JX model prior to this 2001 Limited.

Solid Car with a great ride and hes been reliable to date. Had 80K when bought and still felt tight.

i did buy 3 more sebrings and it looks that i like them more and more....this car is very nice, roomy,looks very good,and is mechanicly good....thanks
