2006 Chevrolet Impala: 2006 Chevy Impala LS Feedback

The description of the car was as stated. The contact persons were knowledgeable in their profession and all paperwork, title and ownership papers were in a folder. It felt like buying a car from a dealership rather than an auction. The chief mechanic talked to me about the car services, what type of oil to use and car care. The car is very tight without any rattles or vibrations. It handles like a new car. The law enforcement decals were properly removed and the car paint is in excellent conditions. Other than the antennas holes and the spotlight, the car doesn't look like a law enforcement car at all. Highway performance and mpg were great. I have enjoyed the car and very satisfied of my purchase.

Ebay motors is actually easier and safer than the local dealer in most cases.
Great selection, and you will find the what you are looking for if you are patient, and have done your research.
You should never buy a car without first researching your purchase.
In my case I saved over $5,000 off what the dealer would have charged.
The Impala is a great all purpose vehicle. good power, performance, while getting about 30 to the gal. not bad for a 6 pass sedan.
Thanks Ebay!

I like the way my impala handles on the road I only drive 2 miles round trip through town to get to work but love to go on long weekend drives.
I especially like the displacement on demand but would like to be able to manually change from 8 to 4 cylinders. I do not like the cheap plastic look on the dash and doors.I bought my vehicle used 9 months ago and have now driven it in all four seasons and have to say I am very happy with the traction control in the winter.
I am not happy however with the paint on this vehicle. The paint easily chips off from the body of the car and there is the look of white overspray below the doors where it is plastic, there are various rust spots eating away above and below the chrome molding on the vehicles trunk and I see more bubbles coming up.
So far I have had no success in getting General Motors to repaint my trunk, they tell me only if it rusts through before the car reaches 6 years old, then I can get it repainted.
I found rust starting two weeks ago on my mother in laws 2008 Impala in the same area of her vehicles trunk and the trunk was repainted within days under her manufactures warranty

2006 Chevrolet Impala: Impala SS - Best Value by far!

05/11/08
• Overall Satisfaction:
I have found nothing that I dislike so far. I have owned it for two years, it has 28,000 miles and still a lot of fun yet comfortable, quite and feels substantial on the road. My favorite thing is the motor. Plenty of power to get up and go with the V-8 and 300 horses yet I am averaging 22 mpg over all. Not too shabby! I like to watch the instant mpg while driving and see when it goes into 4 cylinder mode. The only thing I would change about this vehicle, or any vehicle with active fuel management, would be to have an option to be able to manually control when the vehicle is in 4 cyl or 8 cyl mode. If you drive or buy one, you will not be disappointed.

2006 Chevrolet Impala: 2006 impala LT 3.9

02/09/08(updated 02/09/08)
• Overall Satisfaction:
I bought my Impala in July 07 from my brother-in law's fleet department. The car has all the bells and whistles with the exception of a moon roof and Bose sound system. The vehicle had 58K on it when I purchased it. I've had the right outer tie rod end replaced($96.00), one tire sensor ($90.00), a bad power steering pump line($80.00), and all four tires($500.00) since I purchased the car. I opted for Cooper CS4 tires(Cooper's USA made top of the line) which offer an 80K warranty versus replacing the tires with original equipment Goodyear's. I drove the car from Toledo, Oh to Branson on vacation with an average speed of 78MPH and got 31MPG the entire way. The car is extremely fun to drive. The factory remote starter and heated leather seats are a plus. My "back-up" car is a 95 Cougar XR7 with a 4.6 V-8. The Impala has 40 more HP. The flip down rear seats add versatility to the car (I brought a Christmas tree home in it with the trunk closed). The 3.9 engine is quick and nimble. I purchased the car for $8900.00(Blue book is in the neighborhood of $13K based on the mileage). It's definitely one of the best cars out of the 13 cars that I've owned. The only things that I would prefer would be a coat hanger in the back seat (vs. the grab bars) and rear wheel drive. I buy only black vehicles and keep them polished up. I'm used to people coming up to me and asking if I want to sell the car that I'm driving. This Impala is no different. In the 7 months that I've had my LT, I've already had people approaching me in parking lots to ask "What kind of car is that?" I just smile and say, "That's an 06 Impala".
