2007 Chevrolet Corvette: 2007 Z06 Corvette

12/04/06
• Overall Satisfaction:
I just bought a 2007 Lemans Blue Z06. This is my 11th Corvette to date. In additiona I've owned Porsches and a Ferrari. In the past it was a good car for the price and a great performance car but it had a lot of rough edges that the Porsche had worked out a long time ago. But this car changes all of that. Compared to the Z06 the Ferrari has a kit car feel to it. The Porsche is a refined car but it has a chick's car feel compared to the Z06. The Z06 is a guy's car. It is brutally fast, excellent handling but in addition it now has great ride quality and is very comfortable on a long trip. The fit and finish are excellent as are the ergonomics. The Corvette has finally grown up. This car does not need the excuse "for its price" any longer. In fact it makes the other cars seem way overpriced for what you get. It gives you 99 percent of the performance of a Ford GT for way less than half the price. It gives you everything the Ferrari and Porsche have to offer and then some for a fraction of the price as well. I am always looking for excuses to go for a drive. I'm glad that I bought it instead of leasing it. I plan on putting a lot of miles on this car. I am a little nervous about the carbon fiber fenders but they are available from any GM dealer in the country for less than half the cost of the same parts for an exotic car. Aside from the visceral enjoyment I get from driving it the electronics are a real kick. The head up display is awesome. After driving the Z06 I really miss it in my other cars. The keyless start and security systems also has a very high "cool factor" If you have the remte in your pocket the car unlocks as you walk up to it. When you get in you just push one button and the car cranks and starts automatically. The voice activated navigation system works much better than I thought it would. Overall I have to rate this as a... must buy. I only have two minor problems with the Z06. One is that the roof panel is not removable and the second is that it has really spoiled me. It has set the bar so high that it is going to take something pretty spectacular to impress me.

2005 Chevrolet Corvette: southtowne hyundai/izuzu for 2005 corvette

03/12/07
• Overall Satisfaction:
I decided to buy this vehicle becaused I assumed it was a reputable dealer. The car had been in an accident and was not disclosed by Southtowne hyundai. Not only did they not tell me about the previous collision damage, it was not repaired completely. The cosmetic bodywork was completed, but there was mechanical damage. The front-end was pushed into the engine, radiator fan, and bent the crankshaft pulley which caused misalignment of the fan belt, which caused the fan belt to fail after about a 150 miles of use. While the car was at the dealership getting the belt replaced the mechanic noticed this mechanical damage. I then contacted Southtowne Hyundai and they would not accept responsibility for the previous damage. Do not buy from this dealer!

1980 Chevrolet Corvette: Pictures Can Be Misleading - Understand what you are buying before you BID!

05/19/13
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
• Reliability:
• Comfort:
• Quality and Craftsmanship:
The most positive thing I can say is to ensure you look at a car prior to bidding. The seller of a 1980 Corvette tried to mislead others the same way he was mislead. Apparently he purchased this car and realized it was a pile of junk and also wrote a review here. So, he now has sacrificed his integrity and is trying to do the same thing to others. I clicked the buy it now and left an immediate 500.00 deposit. When I came to pick up the car, I could not believe it was the same vehicle! Did not look anything like the pictures. I told him I was not going to complete the sale because of the poor shape it was in. I wanted my 500.0 back, but it was MY fault for not looking at this pile of junk before I committed myself, so I just told him to keep the money. I dont think he would have given it to me anyway.

To summarize this story - ALWAYS ensure you know exactly what you are buying! Pictures can be modified to hide an ugly truth, just like your ugly neighbor in her Glamor shots picture. Second, if you get screwed, don't lower your own standard and try to screw someone else.

1957 Chevrolet Corvette: Absolutely terrible theft experience. Not helped by Ebay. FRUSTRATING

Ebay was useless. Could not have been a worse experience. All the money transferred out of my Paypal account was stolen, only the money I transferred through Paypal from a credit card was saved. And, it was saved by American Express, Not Ebay. Ebay was no help, never contacted me and it was near impossible to even get through to Ebay Customer Service in the first place. I took the time to do it though, but Ebay did NOTHING. What a rip off, the whole problem stems from Ebay allowing sellers to require an immediate Paypal payment when they are fake accounts set up for theft only. Crappy experience, puts me one step closer to quitting Ebay. Should have quit long ago. Rate Ebay a ZERO(even though it would not let me rate it a zero, which reminds me of another Ebay problem MANDATORY ANSWERS. These most often do not fit the situation, but you have to choose from the predetermined wrong responses. STUPID

2001 Chevrolet Corvette: best car I've owned?

Someone wrote a review stating this to be the "best car i have ever owned". really? You need to buy more cars. This is typical GM product. Made for the masses, built just good enough to lure some folks in that can't quite afford a real sports car...

1966 Chevrolet Corvette: 1966 Vette

The corvette I purchased was well represented in the pictures provided by the seller. Interior is clean and the outside is nice with a few blemishes. There are a number of small items to correct in order to pass inspection so I can transfer the title (no horn, parking brake, cracked tail lenses, dead battery). I am sure I will enjoy driving the car for many years to come.

1979 Chevrolet Corvette: The description should be accurate but was NOT. 'Certified pre-owned' NOPE

04/01/13
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
• Reliability:
• Comfort:
• Quality and Craftsmanship:
I think the description was very misleading and I have bought other vehicles before. Describing the car as 'Certified pre-owned' with a driver's window that does not work up or down, heat and A/C that do not work at all, cruise that does not work at all, windshield washer that does not work at all, lights bulbs that are missing, one headlight that requires manual raising,...is just not truthful. Writing that the car had a 'fresh tune-up' is just inaccurate. The filters, including the air filter, looks so disgustingly dirty that it may be the original. The car takes quite a while to start. Don't call it 'Certified pre-owned' when so many things do not operate and it does not meet the requirements of CERTIFICATION. I got much more and paid less for my previous Ebay Vette. This is just my initial inspection. I'm sure more defects will arise when I perform a closer inspection.

1965 Chevrolet Corvette: BE VERY CAREFUL AND ASK ALOT OF QUESTIONS

Buying something without seeing is a chance in the dark. The vehicle is almost 50 years old but alot of things were hidden. It had a 283/200hp motor even though it was listed as having a 327/350/hp It had chewed and torn door panels, broken mounts on the trans for the shift linkage, broken exhaust manifold, bumpers had scratches all over them,AC was inoperable, radiator leaking, differential had no lube, battery was bad, fuel gauge inoperable, gas tank was full of rust and finally it was repainted and none of this was mentioned. All this is repairable and lucky I have abusiness to do all this but it is costly

2003 Chevrolet Corvette: My hobby has always been car shopping. Not anymore. The Vette is the best.

03/01/13
• Overall Satisfaction:
• Performance:
• Reliability:
• Comfort:
• Quality and Craftsmanship:
I use my Vette only on sunny weekends. The exterior paint is perfect, with a body kit and C6 chrome wheels. The interior has custom paint and seats, as well as a popup A/V system. The engine is completely dressed out in chrome and red powder coating, with a mural on the underside of the hood. It also features headers and dual-cone cold air induction. It's not a race car, it's more for show, but it runs and sounds magnificent. This is the car I've always wanted but never thought I could have.
