I recently purchased a 1987 GN with 19,000 miles in South Carolina. This car is a classic and I believe will always hold its value. Unlike corvettes and mustangs the GN is a rare muscle car... Darth Vader in wheels!

Well a 1987 Grand National, Its a great investment(one of the fastest street production cars ever produce). But the cars is over 20 years old. The buyer should inspect car for rust thoroughly. Also Engine & transmission work can be heaft on these car's & the parts are expensive. Pleaseb keep that in mind when buing, I wanted one with a Good body no rust with no accidents. So value would grow with time, as I transformed her. The new Fast & Furrious movie has the 87 Grand national, which they had 4 GN's for that one scene. The car in the movie had a different suspension, to handle & spin. In opening scenes.*****5 stars for a 1987 Buick Grand National.......You rule...

1985 Buick Grand National: Buick Grand National - The next true collector car

Originally built to outrun the Corvette, this turbo powered rocket looks and feels like a family car until you punch it. It has a sleek style, but seats five (four comfortably), great platform for an excellent sound system (stock will not suffice) and more speed than any stock car made up to the manufacture date of this car. This car is Daddy's dream - comfy for the family on Christmas Day, and faster than any of his buddies' two seaters. Parts and interior upgrades are readily and affordable, and local shops can fix many mechanical issues, if they arise. Overall, I love this car - I have a 67 Camaro convertible and a custom 69 Bronco - but I had to get this car to complete the set. Better get one fast - 85-87 were the only years they were made, and everybody is learning what I just put in this review.

I liked the vehicle because it is something that my boys and I can work on together and something to keep us busy learning about cars. i liked the sellers and how they did the transaction and they were very upfront and made me feel at ease and not thinking they were hiding anything from me. They even picked me up from the airport!!! The mileage was low and the price allowed for me to fix up some and enjoy the car because of the work that will be put into it by our family.

1987 Buick Grand National: 1987 Buick Grand National is under rated

03/09/09
• Overall Satisfaction:
The 1987 Buick GNs had stronger parts than the other Regals. I got 117,000 miles out of my first one and I had to junk it only because the frame cracked from abuse and it rusted out with the Wisconsin salt that was put on the roads after 14 years. I had to put in a few batteries, two sets of tires, and one fuel injector plus service items like brakes, filters, mufflers and tail pipes, and fluids. I had one emission part under warranty fail. Everything was in good condition when I sold it after it was in an accident. The a/c, transmission, engine, turbocharger, starter, radio, etc. were all factory originals. The little things like power locks, windows, radio, heater, etc. all were in good condition when I sold it in 2001. The seat springs were getting a little weak but that is standard in older GM cars. This is common results for other owners I have met. NO ONE has EVER told me they regret their purchase, only that they sold it too soon.

It really had about 285 horsepower. I got over 27 mpg in one test at 72 mph in my first test in 1989 and over 32 mpg at 62 mph. The engine was made to tight tolerances as it did not get great gas mileage until it had 16,500 miles on it. If I had not hit a tree or ran it on salty roads, I would have still have it.

The BLING factor is amaxing. I have never had someone it was a gus guzzler or one bad word about the car in 14 years. I will continue my love affair with this purchase because the car is exactly the same as the one I bought in 1987.
